question for the girls who frequently go to NYC clubs....

hey all!

so we are thinking about going to Duvet for my bachelorette party... i pretty much want to do a strip club & then a club - my friends found Duvet & thought it would be perfect b/c they have a strip show & then you get to stay at the place for the club... BUT the only issue is - its like $300 for a bottle & you HAVE to buy a bottle to get a table/bed that they have there to hang out in!

so my question is - has anyone ever been to this place? if so, is it worth it to go if you dont get a table or bed??

i dont remember if ive ever been to duvet i live in manhattan so only go clubbing out here, but i kow webster hall does striptease, ladies free and drink free on thursdays..i went to it before it was good, free drinks was the best part lol..avalaon on 6th avenue also does one i think its on Fridays....i also like club show near 42nd street, 40/40 club isnt that bad but i stood in one spot all night because it was too crowded, maybe it was just the night

i know so many clubs in nyc but i dont remember name when i go out i just drift to places lol and dont even know the names of them lol....theres one in the bryant park hotel, its a reallyyy nice...have no idea of the name though.
club eugenes is also nice.

its not that duvet is expensive but ALL clubs in nyc its $300 for a bottle and you need to buy bottles to get a table, and its a 2 bottle minimum for most of the clubs. SO it would actually be $600...some clubs are 4 bottle minimum such as marquee

thats crazy...i will drink with a bottle in the house before paying that much for a bottle just to get a table

ive been to duvet... you really dont 'need' a bed...

it is really expensive- i wouldnt say its worth it to get a bottle service.

the place is cool- most of the place is made up of beds- there are beds that arent in the best spots so you could luck out.

there is a place that does bachlorette parties in the city- its like an 80's prom theme or something like that -its only 50 a person i think. worth checking out?

i wouldnt go to webster hall, its one of the few clubs that is 19 and over and you get a very young crowd.

Providence is good and its big

marquee is fun but i wouldn't suggest getting a table bc it is $1200 minimum

myst is fun but also gets SOOO crowded so if youre with alot of ppl its hard to all stay together or dance together, i went with like 5 people and it was hard.

230 fifth is real nice, and its no charge to get in but drinks are expensive.

Pink Elephant is good but they have a very very very strict door policy and have their noses in the air. Also expensive drinks, but with a big group of girls they might be better about letting you in

yeah i would say go to the strip show there but leave after and go to another club

What website would I look on for clubs now? Back in the day when I used to go out (during the week & everything...) I would look on joonbug and a few others....

I've been to duvet and it's good but nothing amazing. I would get a table or bed if I went just so your group could stay together, but I don't know how worth it it would be.

I went to Buddha Bar recently (17 Little West 12th Street) and that place is pretty good. They are a restaurant before hand and then it turns into more of a club/lounge scene, so maybe you could do dinner there and then hang out after.

I would also suggest 230 Fifth, it's a really nice place and for NYC standards the bottles are fairly cheap (start at about $220). They are also really good with minimum bottles (don't make you buy 5 like marquee), and the service is great. We've gotten tables there a few times now, and every time we go it's always a great time. The music is really good and if you go during warmer weather they have a roof deck that is fun (and in colder weather they give you plush red robes to wear which is pretty funny).

I was thinking butter... I've been there on a Monday and the DJ was amazing!! It's more of a classy lounge scene which I like over a club scene. I'll have to check out these other 2...

YEAH see its hard to just suggest places bc alot of ppl look for different things.

Also i would look up info for whatever day you go. From week to week one place will be better than the other. SOmetimes you have guest dj's so everybody will go that night to a certain place.

When i used to always go out thats what we did. We would see which place was good that particular weekend. Somehow people looking for the same things all ended up at the same places every weekend, so although it was a different place it would be alot of the same crowd.
