We went looking this weekend for rings, and every place we went to said that they eternity bands never come certified because of the size of the stones. This sounds so fishy to me.

Re: Question for the girls with eternity bands:
Most of the time, eternity bands are not certified because the diamonds are small. It costs approx $100-150 to GIA certify ONE stone. Imagine how much that would drive up the cost of the whole band?
Its nothing to be alarmed about - its standard practice.

Re: Question for the girls with eternity bands:
Great question. We're going to pick up our rings this week so i'll have to ask my jeweler about that. Can you insure it without it being certified?

yes! just have the jeweler give you an appraisal, or have it independantly appraised. Make sure you specify its for INSURANCE, so they don't inflate the value too much, and your rate isn't ridiculously high.

My eternity band did not come with a GIA report but we do know what the quality of the diamonds are.

usually a ring with multiple diamonds won't be certified either....this was explained to FH when he wondered why my e-ring would not be.

I believe only my center stone of my e- ring is ceritfied- the 2 side stones are not- which annoys me b/c it's not like they are small- but I was told the quality is the same as the center stone-
