Ok, do you guys really CARE what you get as a favor when you go to weddings? The reason I ask is because for my favor I want to do flower seeds in little tin pails (because I'm getting married in the spring) but I don't want the male guests to feel shafted. I mean, what would a guy want with flower seeds? But if you guys don't usually care about stuff like favors, then I'll do the flower seeds. Otherwise, I was thinking something edible, like the black and white M&Ms or wine bottles.
FH likes the M&M idea but I think it might be a little too cheapy. Help!

Sorry..NOt a groom...BUT..who doesn't like candy??? I like the M & M idea....plus I would think that even IF the single guys took the favor, I'm sure they'd either use it (secretly) or give it away to someone that would plant the seeds!

I like the M&M idea. I think that would be cool. I am trying to be in on every aspect of the planning for Danielle. She went and got these candles that would be perfect for the favors....and I thought it was a good idea....Usually the favors just go to the women but if a guy takes it, im sure he wouldnt mind the m&m idea, and if he got the seads....Im sure he can give them to someone

I don't think we grooms care much about what we receive as wedding favors, though I guess that some of us will care about what favors we give at our own wedding.
BTW--If you really want to gather ammunition to convince your FMOTH to agree to flower seeds, you need to delete from your message any mention of M&Ms as an option. Too yummy.
Sunflower seeds are edible, right?
Ultimately, I say if you like the flower seeds, go for it.

ok, speaking for my fiance. he does not care if there were any favors. and if it was a favor candy would be his preference....
my suggestion is put the seeds in pails for the girls, and candy in the pail for boys

Hmmmm..... or maybe I can put brown M&Ms in the pails WITH the seed packets so the M&Ms would be the 'dirt'??? Or purple to match the BM's dresses....

I am doing the same favor. But I am using a hand painted terra cotta pot instead of tin. I was debating this myself in my head. I asked FH so many times what he thinks, but he just shrugs his shoulders and says I don't care. I am going to do the seeds in the pot, and maybe a rose made out of hershy kisses. But I do love the idea of brown m&m's to look like dirt. I will have to keep that in mind.
I say go for the seeds, guys tend to never use the favor at a wedding anyways.
