Question for those fibbing about the time on their invitations?
I know there are quite a few of us that are doing this, however I am looking to do my programs and was wondering for continuity purposes if you are putting the same time on the programs or the correct time?

K I put the wrong time for everything I have done so far. Will continue to do so right to the day of the wedding. Would you believe people at the eparty showed up an hour after the ‘real’ time?

I am also putting 10:45 for the ceremony instead of 11 so its starts on time. I think fibbing is ok because no one respects your added stress when things start late!!

Re: Question for those fibbing about the time on their invitations?
My caterer actually suggested the invite say 12:30 even though the ceremony won't start until 1:00! So I guess it's not really a lie if your coordinator tells you to! LOL

ALWAYS LIE....i hate to say this loudly, but most people will accomodate for the travel time, but they may not know the exact locations of things & get lost....always add on at least 1/2 hour & make the programmes match (they never need to know)

Re: Question for those fibbing about the time on their invitations?
We absoultely did fibbled with the ceremony time on our invitations and our programs. DH got this idea from a friend of his who was getting married a year before our wedding, DH was the BM at this friend's wedding. A year later in 2002 this friend became our BM and we fibbled our ceremony start time on our invites. Only our immediate family, BP knew about the real start time of the ceremony as all the guests publicly look at their watches, huff and puffed and mumbled to each other about the time. Our ceremony site was a non-denomial chapel and we had only 1 hour usage of it for the specifized time which there was another wedding immediately following ours. Thus, it was important that everyone get there on time so we fibble 1/2 hour difference and put 3pm on our invites and programs when it's really 3:30pm. It worked out well and we were out earlier before our finished time slot.
We knew many people always show up late to appointments so it was fine. Eventually people got over the whining, huffing and puffing as they were feed during dinner. We just kept the fibbling of the actual ceremony start time a big secret for 1 1/2 years from our general guests as many were so gossipy.

I did not include times on my programs. I listed the order of events.

I fibbed the time on my invite, but did not put times on my programs. Only date and order of ceremony.

Never crossed my mind, but I guess it's a pretty good idea. Did you feel weird about officially fibbing? Especially on your wedding day?
