Is is 'bad' or inconvenient to stay just outside the park and take a hotel provided shuttle bus? Or is is worth it to just stay in the park?
What about going to other parks?
I want to make the best of our trip, we'll do 5-7 days.
Thanks!!

Re: Question for those honeymooning in Disney...
I'm not going on a honeymoon to Disney but, I've been there a few times and stayed off the premises.
I think it's easier to stay on the premsises. When you stay at a hotel right outside, you're dependent on their shuttle, which usually only comes at certain times. The Disney busses pretty much run all the time.

It is much easier to stay on site. Even if you rent a car at Disney (FL) you can drive to the parks and use the parking lots for free! Sometimes it is faster than the buses unless you relly want to save money on the car rental.

Its really convenient to use the Disney Transport, so definitely easier to stay on site.

It's much easier and worth it to stay on the premises. One of the really nice romantic hotels in FL is the Grand Floridian resort. They have a monorail to take you to some of the parks as well as the busses.

DEFINITELY stay on the grounds...it's a whole different experience. Our absolute favorite: the Polynesian!! Book a spa treatment at the Grand Floridian, eat at the California Grill while fireworks go off at the Magic Kingdom (get a window seat!), sip Champagne in France at Epcot while watching Illuminations....so many awesome things to do! :) Enjoy!!!

Re: Question for those honeymooning in Disney...
We are staying at the Grand Floridian...
1. Because its the nicest and who knows when we will be able to stay there again
2..Its on the monorail and is only 1 of 3 on the monorail...Comtemporary and Polynesian are the other ones
I know other people like some of the other Disney properties like the Board Walk....
Also guests who stay on the Disney properties get to enter early and stay late at different parks each day...We are going in July so we are planning to go back to the hotel during the hottest parts of the day and then return in the late afternoon when its cooler

Re: Question for those honeymooning in Disney...
My FH and I are going to Disney. I have done both - stayed on and off prpoperty and I do not recommend staying off property. I stayed off property at a hotel 'with a shuttle' and we were at the mercy of the shuttle. It ran at all sorts of times - nothing consistent. We aslo stayed on property and enjoyed it thoroughly. We were able to go back to the hotel mid-day, swin and then return after we were rested. Staying off property - you are captive there for the day. We are staying at the Grand Floridian (cause we'll never be able to afford it again) for 5 nights , and then going on a 7 night Disney cruise western carribbean. Can't wait

Re: Question for those honeymooning in Disney...
I have gone several times and really like staying off the premises. The Hyatt Grand Cypress is gorgeous!! It was within a 5 minute drive to everything - any park and downtown disney. You should definitely rent a car because there is great entertainment and restaurants in downtown disney. Also, you may want to go to Universal/City Walk area as well. There is so much to do off the premises that renting a car really makes it worth it so you might as well stay at a great hotel too. For your HM I would definitely recommend the Grand Hyatt with a balcony - either pool or lake view. Another benefit to staying off the property - less kids, more romance..
Good luck!

Re: Question for those honeymooning in Disney...
Disney in CA is nothing like Disney in FL. It's in Anaheim, which is no place special and it's much smaller. No resorts. There's alot better places to visit in Cali if you fly out that far.
