Question for those in the DC area...

What's a nice resturant in the Fairfax/Arlington area? I want to get my dad/step-mom a gift certificate to a resturant for their parent gift, but besides chains, I'm really not sure of nice places up there.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

what type of resturant are you looking for?
My favorite in Arlington is Harry's Tap Room, I guess you would say its American Cuisine, and Steak's.

Umm, any kind really. They do like steaks though, and pasta. I'll eep Harry's in mind though - thank you!

They live in Fairfax though, near Fair Oaks, if you know any in that area as well - thanks!

I have family in the area. We like to take a drive into Old Town Alexandria and go to the Chart House. There are several other good restaurants there, too.

In the Fair Oaks area, I would say you can do any of the restaurants in tyson's.

PF Chiangs - chinese
Maggiano's - Italian
Daily Grill - American - not my fave
Cheesecake Factory - always good.

Then you can do the RuthChris Steakhouse - they have a bunch of locations.

Or go to Trip Advisor.com and search for the town you'd like and check out the restaurant listings!

good luck!
