But what % of total wedding cost did you get back in gifts (envelopes at the wedding)

not a % but my RH is on the higher end - and I got the cost of my RH back..

that was it..so less than 50%

My RH was on the lower side since I did it so quick, we got back 110% :)

I got back 40%
dont expect much and u wont be disappointed

ETA: we had a bunch of OOTers that most gave less which is understandable and DH's side sux lol

I am expecting maybe 2/3 of the cost of the reception hall, so less than 1/2 of the wedding.

Wow! This is encouraging. I was thinking if we are lucky we might get 20-25% of the total cost. Still not going to get my hopes up (would rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed), but good to know it could be more

My sister didn't get as much as she was expecting- so that is why I went with a 'wish' registry- so hopefully we will get more monetary gifts- we really would like to put money toward the actual house- not stuff in the house!

(we are using www.uponourstar.com) - so far, so good!

But how do we let people know that we are registered there? Do we just put it in the invitation or do we just do word of mouth?
