Question for those of you who have begun to book vendors...

How does the payment work? Do they want the money up front, a certain percentage up front or will they work out a payment plan?

you do have to put a deposit down...each vendor is different...some want 20%, others 10% some will ask for a couple hundred dollars, others more it all depends. But yes you are going to have to give them something when you are booking.

The vendors we spoke to at showcases said they all require a deposit.

I mostly spoke with photographers and they said you can give them the deposit and once your wedding gets closer you can pick the package and stuff you want and then set up a payment plan. They just suggest at least giving the deposit to hold the date.

You will always have to leave some type of deposit and that is mainly to hold your date.

yeah you leave a deposit and after they make a payment plan for you...Most have 3 payments and some do 4 payments until your wedding date.

Ive been paying off my photo and dj.

they asked what I could leave and I left it. After that ive made payments when I could and mantained constant contact with them.

I wouldnt worry about havign to def leave large deposits. We met with a lot of ppl (all my vendors are booked) and they were all very supportive in having to pay ooff the depost.
FM if u need more info!
