Question for those of you will the MIRACLE BLANKET
I did a search on here and saw that many of you swear by the Miracle Blanket. I was thinking about getting one for myself and for my SIL (who is due tomorrow ).
My question is....My husband thinks it will be too confining (like a straight jacket) for the baby. He asked -don't they like to move around a lot-. I told him there has to be a reason that they bundle babies up like that when they are first born. As far as I know it's only for the first few months so by the time they are REALLY moving, they will be out of it.
Any opinions on this before I purchase them?
TIA

Re: Question for those of you will the MIRACLE BLANKET
Most babies do like being swaddled and wrapped tight, but some do not. Kiera absolutely hated being swaddled. She loved to have her hands moving. But she is in the minority with that. Most newborns love it because it's tight like the womb.

I SWEAR by the Miracle Blanket. For Cassidy, it was a godsend.
She just stopped using it, and she is (a very big) 4 months old. It really helped her sleep, and although it does look confining, they feel safe being all snuggled and bundled like that. After all, they didn't have room to move around in the womb!
I have bought it for 2 baby showers so far, and will continue to!!
Good luck

My daughter was the same way. She hated being swaddled. I knew because she would cry.

Not only did Cassidy not cry, but she slept alot longer once we started using it. She would be constantly waking herself up because babies so little have no control over their limbs, so she'd be punching herself in the head, or get startled and her arms and legs would jump, with the Miracle Blanket she couldn't do that.

For the first few weeks, when they move too much they tend to upset themselves -- hitting themselves in the head and such.
Of course I say this as an owner of the blanket who has never used it for sleep. When you lie my daughter on her back her hands always go above her head and stay put. I just swaddle her under her arms.

I use the swaddle blanket everynight and my son is now 3 months...and he sleeps through the night. I've tried not using the blanket but my son is very active and always moving, he wakes himself up with his hands.
Here's the link for the swaddle blanket at babiesrus for only $9.99
