More than the average $250 that they charge when it's in the same shop?

All I needed was the hem & bustle done (and had cups sewn in) and it was like $350 (um, almost half of what my dress cost!!).

But I looked at it this way, I tried the dress on at Bridal Reflections and they wanted $1100 for it, with a $250 cap on alterations plus the bustle (I don't remember how much that was).

In the end, I still saved money by ordering online & paying outrageously for alterations.

I completely agree. After ordering through a bridal store, I figured that I should have ordered online (to save $), but I couldn't find a place to alter it.

Now that it's time for me to receive the dress, I kind of got the run around about my dress... and immediately jumped to plan B: Ordering online. So I wanted to make sure, if need be, that I could have it altered somewhere, if I ordered online.

Thanks for the info!

I had asked this a while ago and someone posted that they were using this woman (sorry, I don't remember who). She's in Astoria.
