Yes, you will get more responses closer to the date.

You should FM Jackie. She was losing it because she wasn't getting responses either. And I'll tell you what I told her...people suck and they don't seem to get the fact that us brides need these little cards back ASAP. Hence the little stamp we put on the tiny envelope. It's not hard to send them back, but for whatever reason people like to take their time. They're coming...don't stress yet!

Re: question for those who are married already
Not yet married but I feel your pain.
We met with our DOC and RSVP's came up. I flat out REFUSE to call to ask for RSVP's from ANYONE. I put too much effort into picking out invites, mailing them out EARLY enough for everyone to make flight and/or hotel arrangements (blocked rooms) and I put stamps on the RSVP cards in addition to walking everything to the post off to mail.
It takes seconds to check yes/no and drop it back in the mail. There is a space for them to write names but they are numbered so I know who sent in which RSVP.
FH plans to make the calls since he is one who would probably hold on to an RSVP or forget to mail it. He may enlist the DOC (or her assistant) to make the calls (or the bridal party) but I refuse to make calls to run down anyone.
If they call me to RSVP, I will accept that but I am not making more of an effort than I have already made with the whole RSVP issue. Even my grandma says not to make the calls.
If someone shows up who did not RSVP and therefore is not on the alphabatized list we need to turn in to the hall (which means no table assigned), FH says we should be accommodating As if all the effort we have already made is not accommodating enough

Re: question for those who are married already
You still have 2 weeks to your rsvp date...they will come. They'll probably still be coming in a week after your response date as well. Some people think the rsvp date is a suggested mailing date, so they wait until that date . Some people think the way to decline the invitation is to do nothing at all. You have nothing to worry about - we all go through this!!

Re: question for those who are married already
This happened to us too. We invited 490 people and gaurtanteed the hall 300. With 2 weeks to go before the wedding, we only had 182 responses, we were freaking out. Okay, I was freaking out!!! Pretty much the week before the wedding the rest of the RSVPs came.

Re: question for those who are married already
We got a slew of them right around the response date. People just don't get it.
We had about 10-15 responses to chase down after the due date. Some people just never responded, but we only had one person not respond and then show up. Of course, that barely made a dent in the 10 cancellations and no-shows
Tell yourself not to worry about it again until 3 business days after your response date.

Re: question for those who are married already
I am not close to invites yet, but I am almost positive that I will be chasing people down for their RSVP's. I would not worry about it, I am sure they will all come pouring in around the 14th, or maybe even a few days after.

Re: question for those who are married already
You will probably find that everyone else will rush to get it in at the last minute, or even AFTER the date. It happened to me and my sister and all my friends.

Re: question for those who are married already
YEp, get a bunch in at first and then have to wait til the end and after to get the rest. What we did was try to make educated guesses based on what we thought to see if we needed or could invite more people by what we got back and what was out there. I never understood it esp. if you sent out STDs. GL!, we feel your pain.

Re: question for those who are married already
I had the exact problem. The 1st few weeks I got tons of RSVPs and then it stopped. I started to get really worried but the week of the RSVP date I started to get tons again. I even got some a about 4 days after the RSVP. Some people wait until the last minute to mail it.

Re: question for those who are married already
A lot of no's tend to come at the end. But don't be surprised if the week after your RSVP date, they're still coming in.
