Question for those who live in North Babylon...

Hi.

I grew up in NB but have been in the city for the past 11 years. I have been thinking about moving back and wanted some feedback from those who live there now.

Do you like living in NB?
Are you worried that the school has a bad rep?
Anyone live on the northern border?
If it is anything like it used to be, I dont know if I can deal with all the guidos crusing DPA:)

Anything you can tell me would be helpful.
Thanks.

i think you'd get more feedback if you refrained from using such negative stereotype phrases such as 'guidos'...

Sorry to offend....didn't mean it negative...except for the fact that it causes traffic:)

oh you didn't offend ME in particular, but maybe someone else may have been offended.
If it's traffic you're referring to, then maybe 'alot of congestion' would have been a better choice of words.

eta: in my opinion, the term 'guido' IS a negative stereotype.

DH and our close friend grew up there and graduated N. Bab in 95. Our friend is a teacher and taught summer school in N. Bab a few summers ago and I don't think he thought it was all that bad. I think it had changed from 95, but since he is a teacher in another district, the pointed out that kids have changed all over, not just there.

Hi,

We bought in the Poet Section of NB. Just off Hunter Avenue (West Islip/NB border). We are SOO happy with our house... We live in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Yes, our taxes are high, but....

Anyway, we are not worried about the schools. We have heard good/bad... We are very happy with the fact that we are in a very safe neighborhood with great elementry and middle schools...

Re: DPA, I don't really notice the cruising that much anymore then we did it! :) However, DPA is extremely congested all the time, esp. weekends!
