Question for those who signed with Duet

I am seriously considering signing a contract with duet for my wedding. I only need 1 photographer and am not getting books, enlargements - I am just getting the pictures on a CD/DVD and maybe printed proofs (but I will most likely print them somewhere else).

Here's my question: for those of you who signed with them, how many proofs did they say you would get from your one photographer? I met with Eric a few weeks ago and he told me I would have 2000 proofs, which I find VERY hard to believe. (That's over 200 pictures an hour!!!) My sister had them several years ago and she had about 600. Most photogs are telling me I'll have between 700 and 1000, which sounds about right. I love their work, but I feel like he is stretching the truth here to impress me and I am not sure what I should think about that (if he is lying, I am not too fond of that).

200 pics an hour is definately realistic. For our Eshoot he actually took about 400 pics, we got i think a little over 100 proofs. They take tons of pics and then they give the ones that turn out the best. I would believe what they say, but if you still arent sure you could ask an 07 bride who already got her proofs back.

I just received my wedding proofs from Duet and my main photographer Jay's DVD had 1900 pics on it. I had two photographers though and between the both of them they printed out 600 proofs.

actual proofs are 600 but they said they would give all photos on a CD/DVD and that could be what they meant by the 2000 pictures...

I am only getting the CD ... printing the pictures myself at another location to save $$$ (duet wants 50 cents a print, most places charge a lot less) so I could print all 2000 then -- is that the only difference between a picture and a proof? A 'proof' is printed? Or is a proof a picture they have edited in some way? (made it black and white, sepia toned, etc?) I thought that they were the same thing .. but now I am questioning it.

I did post this on the 07 board, and they are saying the same things as you girls - 2000 pics but only 600-700 proofs ... so I guess now I need to know the difference between a picture and a proof!
