I have a question regarding wedding day planners.... did you have them? could you have gone without them? did you need them? was the day more organized with them?
I don't have a wedding planner, been doing everything myself... which is no biggie, but what about the day of? I might need someone to make sure everything goes to plan... do you think I should have someone help? Friend, coordinator, or will everything just magically fall into place without me having to lift a finger? lol....

Re: Question For Wives
my wedding day planner was my mom. on the wedding day, I don't think we needed one. we called all our vendors in the days prior, and they all showed up...I'm not sure how much there is to coordinate the day of. But if you think it will give you piece of mind then you should do it.

Re: Question For Wives
I didn't, but I wish I had used one. I totally flaked out on all these last minute details and it was very stressful right before the wedding.

I didnt have one and didn't feel the need to even now. I guess it depends on everyone around you too - my mom was organized so that helped out too.

You girls are my piece of mind. I felt fine without a coordinator, until someone made me think otherwise... but you guys reassured me. As I thought before, a coordinator is NOT needed... especially if you have people around (5 BMs).

I am sorry if I made you confused. I am such a trouble maker sometimes. I got one, because I know my family are plain out nuts....
Also, it is a friend of a friend who I may just pay either 50-75.00 No more. One of her functions will be too ,get us to the church on time. I love her 'take charge attitude'. My mom and I have a problem with tardyness. And time is money

Re: Question For Wives
I didn't have one. At the reception, the banquet mgr. took care of everything. I did rely on the best man to take care of paying everyone. I made separate envelopes which I labeled photographer, dj, etc. and put everything in a big manila envelope.
It should be someone you trust.
Good luck, Donna 10/5/03

Re: Question For Wives
didn't use one. I don't think I needed one. Maybe it would have gone a little nicer with one. I had one miserable BM. Maybe if I had a wedding planner, she would have seen and stopped some of the things that this BM did
but, other than that, I don't think I needed one.

I did not have one & did not need one. I had a great bridal attendant at the Hall & FIL's company drove our lims, so the church stuff was taken care of pretty well.

I didn't have a planner, but I did have an all day 'assistant' who fluffed me and kept fixing my make up. I am glad I didn't only because we had 2 MD's at CHateau Briand and they kept everything running smoothly. Even if I had to do it again, a third 'director' would have been overkill...who directs who would have been even more overwhelming for me!
