If your FH had been engaged to someone else before, had a hall booked & all.... but they broke up & called off the wedding. Would you ever book your wedding at that same hall?
I have a friend in a similar dilemna where her FH wants to book the same hall that he & his ex were booked at :-/ And he's like dead set on that or nothing else.

Re: Question for you girls..
In this case i think it should be a joint decision between the two of them. If she doesn't like the hall, regardless if thats where he was previously going to have his wedding w/ his former FW, then they should not have their wedding there. if she does like it however and they are getting a deal they want then why not?

I personally wouldn't want to get married at the same hall my FH had booked with someone else.

No. No. No. 100 times no.
New Wife New Life. That's how I look at it. Anything that is connected to the past engagement is completely off the list IMO.

Re: Question for you girls..
if i was in the sme position as your friend, first i would say no, kick FH in the jewels and then say NO again. But thats just me!!
I wouldnt want to be married anywhere near where FH had planned to have the reception with his past fiance...

Re: Question for you girls..
omg absolutely not.. that is the place they choose as a couple. your friend really should put her foot down about this one. her FH really needs to understand thats not such a great idea. plus wont all his friends & family realize they r booking the same place. that would make me feel like crap. IMO

No way no way now way. I just couldn't do it. I wouldn't even look at it cause with my luck I'd fall in love with it. Maybe it's petty, but no.

Re: Question for you girls..
It's not that she doesn't like the hall. The RH is actually Westbury Manor. She thought it was very nice but doesn't like the fact FH was booked there to be married to someone else.
I suggested for her to go to Fox Hollow, so I went with her last night. She just fell in love with the place. When she told FH about it he was less than thrilled and well..... he finally agreed to go to their resturant to taste the food, but she's afraid he might spitefully not like the food just so they don't book there
I told her if he does that then you don't book either, and keep looking. I told her after seeing 19 halls I'm sure I can point her in the right direction

Westbury Manor is beautiful, that's where my reception is. but if i was in her shoes, i never would have gone to look at. i would not want anything to be the same from the prior engagement.

Re: Question for you girls..
I think your friend needs to trust him. If he really wants that RH is because of something not because he was previously booked there maybe they gave him a good deal to rebook??? or maybe he just really likes it. Does your fried like the hall to or she just doesn't want to do it there for that particular reason???? ...I really feel that they should have a serious talk. The attitude of 'my way or the highway' is sooo old fashioned she should have her say too

I would be completely against this. this is one of the biggest days of your life and you dont need anything putting a cloud over it. If it makes her uncomfortable...he should understand
