Question for you girls (not about your bm's taking their shoes off)

My personal trainer told me to get a book that has a list of a ton of foods with their caloric value.

I am supposed to be staying under 1200 calories a day and I really need this book.

She said it is small, like it fits in your pocketbook.

Does anyone know what book this is, the name of it, or where they sell it.

Thanks guys and btw eating under 1200 calories sux

Not sure what it is sorry. I can't imagine eating only 1200 calories even fills you up!

I would reserve the low low calorie diet for 3 weeks before your wedding. Other wise you will be forced to eat that way until you get married.

you should only cut 20% of your daily intake at a time or you will just sabotage yourself.

seriously

I know it seems low but this is really to kick start my weight loss for now b/c I was at a plateau for a while, so this won't be forever

actually 1200 really isn't that little. you can eat a lot. you just have to pick lower calorie (healthier) foods. My diet is based on 1200 per day and I don't have any problems with it. I never go hungry (of course I crave snacks and stuff once in a while but thats completely normal!)

Sorry dont know it....tried googling and nothing.

1200 does seem low but depends on your weight.

Also eat a ton of veggies and fruit. Well I usually stay away from the fruit bc the sugar makes me very hungry!

I don't know the name of the book but, i always plan a day ahead making sure I know what I am going to eat and what time I am going to eat it. I just look at the nutrition information on the side of the packages when I am making my meal plans. good luck! you can do it!

I am just trying to help but am wondering who told you to eat less than 1200 calories? I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that is not so good for you. It will ultimately slow your metabolism and depending how much less than 1200 cals you are eating it could do damage to you long-term. I suggest you eat 1200 calories as a minimum and keep your calorie deficit to 500-1000 a day which means you will lose 1-2 lbs per week (each lb is 3500 calories).

Here is some info why from the dieting website Calorie Count Plus where I lost 30 lbs last year (this is from their nutritionist):

Why must I eat at least 1,200 calories a day when I want to eat less?

In order to get the daily food servings you need for a balanced diet, it takes about 1200 calories a day. With careful planning, you could have a balanced diet on 1000 calories, but the restrictiveness of a very low calorie level can lead to binging and weight cycling, which will take you further from your weight loss goal. What's more, very low calorie diets can cause excessive muscle breakdown and metabolic adaptations, which can drive down your calorie requirements. In the end, you'll need fewer calories to maintain a higher weight.

BREAKDOWN OF WHY 1200 CALORIES A DAY IS MINIMUM

Your body needs at least 1200 calories per day to survive. Here is a very rough scientific break down provided by a dietician for a 5' 2', 19 year old female weighing approximately 100 pounds, sitting around all day and doing nothing:

-The heart needs 12% of the calories (144 cals)
-The kidney needs 12% of the calories (144 cals)
-The Liver needs 23% of the calories (276 cals)
-The brain needs 23% of the calories (276 cals)
-The skeletal muscle needs 30% of the calories (360 cals)

By the way, that website (which if you FM me I am glad to share the address) has tons of calorie information listed and it's totally searchable plus a cell phone service where you can ask it for calorie information while away from your computer via text message, it's great!!!! Might work well for you!

Re: Question for you girls (not about your bm's taking their shoes off)

i try and eat 1200 or under everyday to stay thin - eating 1200 or less helped me lose over 30 lbs and ive kept it off for like 2 years now - of course on the days when i eat 3 or 4 slices of pizza or we go out to a restaurant for dinner that all goes out the window but i do try and stick to that to maintain my weight - im 5 feet tall and i fluctuate from 92-95 lbs and it works for me....some of things i eat are light and fit yogurts (60 calories), i drink water and sometimes diet soda ( know all soda is bad but diet soda for me is like a snack b/c i love it), if i get hungry i snack on an apple, an orange, grapes, or a pear, at work for lunch i eat cheerios (or similair cereals like special K) 150 cals a serving with skim plus milk other times i eat a salad with tuna fish or grilled chicken and sometimes i get a subway 6 inch sandwhich which is like 250-300 cals, for dinner we try and eat either chicken or steak with a vegetable (i love peas & mushrooms or broccolli ), sometimes we make omlettes (an egg is only 60 calories i think so you can have 3 egg whites and one whole egg for less than 240 calories), if we watch a movie after dinner during the week ill make popcorn on the stove with just enough oil for the popcorn to pop and thats about it oh and sometimes we eat nuts....if we order chinese for dinner (which we often do) i try and always get either get chicken or shrimp with mixed veggies or with broccolli and i dont eat any rice....i dont stick to this every single day because sometimes i make pasta for dinner, or we'll have a potato with dinner, (or ill eat kettle cooked potato chips ) but i try to eat like that most of the time - i make sure i have milk every day or yogurt or string cheese, fruits, vegetables, and protein - and i should be taking a multi vitamin as well but i need to buy some more - just reminded myself!
