We have a wedding next June for one of DH's friends-- they did not get us a gift for our wedding.. What do we do for their's?
I know it's not tit for tat.. but come on-- get us a card or something.. It's not like they are not planning a wedding themselves.. and they are old enough to know better.
Just was curious what people thought..

I don't know what to say...honestly.
I know I would hold a grudge!!!! But then agian, that's no ticket to heaven.
I would give something, but nothing that I normally would give.
And make sure there gift wasn't misplaced or lost in the shuffle.
tough call on that one!

Just because of what they did (which was completely crappy) don't let that change the fact that you are a thoughtful person with proper etiquette. If you are to attend the wedding, I would give a gift (a very small one). I just don't like to sink to other peoples' levels... Well either that, or I wouldn't go!

I don't think I would be as generous as originally intended

It's not until next June...so you have a while to see if they send you a wedding gift (that old 1 year after the wedding rule is horrible in my opinion, but regardless, it exists). If they still send you nothing, I would get them something very small (definately not cash).

Tough call. Hmm, thay have had plenty of time to send you something since your wedding. That's so rude
I am a true beleiver in what comes around goes around. Half of me thinks F them and don't give something, but half of me thinks you should be the better person and give them something really small.

hmmm! that's a tough one. Maybe their check got lost in the shuffle? I probably would have asked if that were the case. I mean, they could be waiting for their thank you card (if they gave cash).
I would ask them. I know it's not the easiest thing in the world, but it's the only way to know for sure.

if I were in that position, I would probably get them something off their registry - something small. I, like you, can't go somewhere empty handed.
