Question of the Day (10-30-07)

Whats the most bizarre wedding you have ever been to? As in Location, customs, etc. Something that just made you say Ummm..WOW (not in a good way)?

I've never been to a bizarre wedding. Everything has been normal or so it seemed that way to me!

FH's friend down in Fl---all the girls had to wear veils (in BP or not) and the only had like 3 cases of beer and the food ran out (buffet) halfway through the dinner. No cocktail hour---just very different from a NY wedding

I don't think there are any that gave me that feeling. I mean there are some that I would say I don't like this place or I wouldn't do that but everyone has different taste.

An old friend of mine for married in the woods.....the cermony was a little longer than an hour long...instead of a pastor or justice of the peace the had a 'high preistst' and the summoned the spirits of the east and west and blah ablha blah and it was very strange to me....i had never seen a ceremony like it before....i think it might have been a wiccan ceremony but i could be wrong....it was kinda cool but weird to see......then her RH was just rediculous....cheap cheap cheap lol cash bar ( upstate) food wasnt that great, weird dances plus some regular music, small portions of food it was just very different experience for me

Cousins wedding in Cleveland at a hotel. The ceremony was outside next to the pool. There were kids splashing around and screaming in the pool while the ceremony was going on (these kids were just guests). They couldnt close the pool for 30 minutes? It was very annoying.

I went to a wedding in the Coney Island Aquarium, the reception was in the cave room downstairs., and you could see all the fish and there was a humungous Walrus.

The ceremony was by the jelly fish exhibit and they had a steel drum for the ceremony music. The Bride walked into 'In da club' - 50 cent.

Everyone just looked at each other.

HAH...I actually worked a wedding at Vineyard 48 this past weekend....its a family owned vineyard...and the people were from Ohio...

They brought it 18 of the plastic cups for the champagne toast...they had 40 guests....they only gave a toast to 1/2 the party...which I thought was so rude!!

They didnt want to rent chairs from the vineyard....so most of the people who werent dancing on the dancefloor had to stand...it was mostly an older crowd...

I guess you really had to just be there to see it...it was such a bizarre wedding...and they only tips we really made were from the DJ...lol

The only thing bizzare about some of the weddings were the traditions that took place. Bizarre to me b/c I had not seen before (religious, traditions, etc). Other than that- nothing crazy bizarro just yet!!!!

LIW tend to be so much different than anywhere else. So hopefully noone gets offended.

I've been to 2 weddings in PA that were both in Bingo Halls. No flowers or anything like that. One didn't have a photographer (though it was her 3 or 4th wedding). We spent the night before the wedding 'decorating' with really cheap paper stuff bought in Walmart.

And the groom walked down to Elton John.

I went to a wedding in PA recently and was thrown by the lack of flowers, the lack of food and the fact that it took place in a hotel while about 4 other wedding receptions did as well

Two. One was for a friend - it was her second wedding and they had a budget of $3K. It was Indian food (no, they weren't Indian). I don't like or eat Indian food, so of course I had the runs all night once I got home. They also had a DRY wedding and FH is a big drinker, he kept running nextdoor to some random bar on the street! They didn't even serve coffee so I was bummed about that, but the cupcakes were good.

The other wedding was retarded. My ex-boyfriend's aunt was on like a $1K budget. They had dry bagels (i swear they were dry!) and pasta salad. They didn't eat meat and they didn't have alcohol because they didn't drink. It was held at some community hall or something. It was the worst ever. I couldn't wait to leave.
