I'll post my story a bit into the thread so as to not distract from the question

we had gone to Disney and we went to visit Downtown Disney one night. They had a jewelry store and i fell in love with a chain and mothe rof pearl pendant. but it was $800 not including the matching earrings. FH really wanted to buy them for me, but i wanted to spend it on other vacation stuff that week. when we got back from the Vacation, we looked online everyone (they have an onlinewebsite) but could not find that exact neckalce and pendant. (this was all in september)
in november, in one of those beautiful november days we had, we went to the cloisters museum. he had never been there but it is one of my fav museums. so we walk around and they have a huge veranda and outside garden that leads to a massive balcony. we go out there and i was taking some pictures of the views of the two bridges and NJ and he was like (he was behind me) i got you something.
so i turn around and he has this little pouch in his hand and he starts to pull out a necklace - that has not been clasped. so i squealed and told him i couldn't believe he had found the necklave from Disney! So then he keeps pulling the necklace out and he was like oops! it fell. so he reaches into the pouch and said i couldn't find the necklace, but i found this - and it was my ring!!!!
i had no idea it was coming and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
i said YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

on christmas eve in front of both of our families!
My FH took me up to Vermont for what he told me was to help me relax. I was stressed from school and the planning of my sisters wedding. He had this whole beatiful plan to take me on a hike and propose in front of a waterfall and the whole thing fell apart. First off when he was booking the hotel I saw the really nice and pricey hotel he was taking me to and told him he had to switch the place to somewhere else because we had to save up money. I made him book a super 8 motel. The morning that we were suppose to go hiking we woke up to a rain storm. He was all pissed which is very unusual because we are both very easy going. I told him to stop whining and man up because it wasn't the end of the world. I suggested we go to a mall or something else indoors. He wouldn't stop talking about the rain and how it was messing with his plans. I was in the middle of getting ready and he calls me over and tells me we need to talk. In conclusion we got engaged in a Super 8 motel and I was half dresed. Our last day in Vermont he took me on the hike and showed me where he had planned to ask me. I love hiking, nature, and always wanted to be proposed to somwhere intimate. Seeing what he had planned confirmed that I gave the right answer. He knows my so well and had came up with the perfect proposal. He actually asked me again in front of the waterfall which was really nice.

on christmas eve in front of both of our families!
Back then (1.5 years ago) I was working in the city and FH was working in Jersey, so he calls me up at work and says 'hey soooo you want to go see the tree' and I was totally for it except that I thought we had other plans that weekend and he was all like 'I'll come into the city' so then keeping in mind that my office party was that same week - I said 'Give me one good reason why you can come to my Holiday Office Party as my plus one but you want to drive in to see the same tree we saw last year' needless to say he ended up agreeing and complained about workload but said I had a point (he pretty much had to hahaha) this is the first in the list of funny little obstacles.
Soooo it really worked out bc I was all dressed up for the party and when we got to the tree he mentioned going to go see the TOP of the Rock in Rockafeller Center and not knowing any better I said 'ehhh I've seen it already' he had this look on his face that was priceless so then i said 'If you really want to go baby - I haven't been there with you so c'mon' (I didn't want to ruin the fact that he was actiually being uuber romantic - chalk it up to the city lights) and then I remembered that my friend worked there so he could get us in for free - I started making phonecalls and FH was like I want to do this for you so can you just let me pay for it... and besides if your friend comes - we'll have to have a drink with him and we'll probably be late to the office party (good point)...
Sooo then we start walking to the line and I notice a JCrew which had the winter coat I wanted for christmas and I said 'omg lets go see if they have it bc then you don't have to pay for shipping - this must be fate!' Me & that jacket! hahahaah I didn't know what fate had in store for me that night a FH not a jacket lol. So ofcourse he says we'll check it on the way out bc we couldnt miss the time for being in line (I never waited in line before so I didn't think he was making it up and that was the end of that).
We get in line and I start applying blush and he looks at me all bugg eyed and is like 'why are you doing your makeup' which i thought was a little weird - poor thing must have been nervous out of his mind - and I explained, I forgot to apply blush back at the office and when I came with my freind I didn't get to take the photo shot since it was afterhours and I wanted one with him - so he knows that ofcourse I have to doll meself up. When we got to the place to sit and take the souvenir picture, he just kept walking (mission on his mind) and I was yelling for him to come back and take the photo but by then someone else had sat down...
So we get to the TOP of the Rock and we're looking out at the city - and there was this glass section in front of us and I said 'I remember there being no glass here- there has to be another level hmmm and he says 'Isn't this a beautiful view' starring straight at me and by the time I turned to say awww honey - he had his hand in his pocket - which got stuck with the box - he dropped to his knees and in the same fashion he asked me out - he said 'I would like to please know if you would Marry Me' and popped the box open with the ring.
I was a crying mess - and then I looked up and saw the other level lol and forgot to say yes!! I was soo shocked, I was all like, I should have worn waterproof mascara and omg are we still going to the party.... and then of course I said YES YES YES! We had an awesome time at the office party, partied the night away and even got sent home in a car service. I didn't get the jacket but I got a Fiancee

FUNNY STORY..... This is my first christmas away from home.....and ive always had a real christmas tree. The night of December 5th it was POURING and he said lets get the christmas tree. I shouldve known somehting was up then. Well neway, we left it in his parents basement to dry for the night and at literally liek 8 am on the next morning (sunday) he woke me up and said lets put the tree up. I was like what its 8am lets sleep for antoher hour. So he brings the tree up and was acting weird. He gave me a big hug and told me how much he loved me. Now the whole time his hand was in his pants (which actually wasn't that weird bc he has his hands in his pants all the time, haha) Then he started fidgeting in his pants, i was like what the hell is he doing?? He gives me another big hug and says lets put the first ornament on the tree.... he pulls out the engagement ring and it was hanging from an ornament hook. All i could say was 'are you serious'???? bc hes a big joker. he was now down on one knee and i kept saying....'are you serious?'' And he tore his acl a month prior to that so it was difficult for him to go down on one knee and said 'can u just give me an answer, IM SERIOUS.....this kinda hurts.' So i finally said yes and started crying and of course his mom was listening at the door and came in.
The reason why he was figeting in his pants was bc the hook got stuck and he couldn't get it out, so literally for 5 minutes his hand was figeitng in his pants, it was funny.
the ironic thing is that my parents got engaged in front of thier christmas tree too and my fh didn't even know that

This is a little blurb I wrote for our wedding website..so it's in third person, but you get the idea!

After attending two weddings and spending countless hours together, Meagan and Bobby had the entire wedding planned. They knew the venue, date, and all the particulars before being engaged! On October 4th, they went to Jen and Mike Boccio's wedding and of course, Meagan caught the boquet! Little did anyone know, Bobby had the ring and planned to propose the following day! Meagan gave Bobby an idea of the style ring she loved, however, she could not tell if he had visited the jewelry store to ACTUALLY get it. Truth was, he had it hidden in his room for over two weeks! Meagan and Bobby went to Old Westbury Gardens to walk around. Upon arriving at Bobby's planned spot, he stalled until the gardners finished mowing the lawn. Meagan saw the sign for 'The Temple of Love' and laughed at the name. Bobby thought to himself, 'Oh no! That's so cheesy, and this is where I am going to ask her!' They wandered and looked at the scenery on the beautiful day, and Meagan suggested walking to a different spot. Bobby stayed strong and told her to carve something in the column of the temple structure. Meagan eagerly took a rock and carved, 'MF <3 BS 10-05-09'. After a painstaking process, Meagan FINALLY finished and Bobby knew the time had come. She saved the rock used to carve and said, 'WHAT A ROCK!' Bobby was thinking...*YOU have no idea!* Nervous and shaking, he began his proposal including the words from one of their favorite songs by Chris Cagle called 'What A Beautiful Day'. He asked, 'I was wondering what you were doing for the rest of my life...' Even though Meagan knew that a proposal was inevitable, she immediately started to shake and cry (what else is new!) and said yes! As he opened the box, Meagan nervously said, 'BUT you have to put it on!' even though he was timidly trying to do so. Bobby was happy that they had carved their initials to remember this momentous occasion. They excitedly ran off to share the news with everyone else!

Danny and I were in Las Vegas for our 5 year honeymoon, so he made plans for us to go out to dinner for the big anniversary. He made reservations for the Eiffel Tower rest at a table with a view of the bellagio fountains. When we got up to the rest Danny stated his name and said that he had reservations for 6:00. The girl then stated 'I'm sorry but the table you requested is occupied, but we can give you 2 complementary tickets to the top of the tower and by the time you come back down the table will be open.' I wanted to choke her, lol!! so we went to the top of the tower and Danny encouraged me to take pics of my fav hotel, he called my name and I turned around and he was on his knee. The entire observation deck was applauding, it was amazing!!! Then we returned back to the rest all the staff was asking to see my ring and the girl at the front was saying how hard it was for her to lie to me with a straight face. when we got to our table there was a dozen roses, personalized menus, champagne, and a photographer!!!!

NellieBellie Danny had the same prob with his knee too. After he proposed he shared with me that he was practicing getting down on one knee in the bathroom before we left. I was wondering what he was doing in there, lol!!!!
