way too long! the longest was probably about 2 months when i first went away to school. we've had quite a few times where we went 5 and 6 weeks though. Luckily those days are now over and the most we'll probably ever go without seeing eachother will probably be a week.

The longest has been three months. During the summers in college he went home to Queens and I went down South to be with my family. That was torture to be apart so we vowed never again!

i think 2 months -but we had afew years of seeeing each other only every 6 to 8 weeks - and that was terrible - but now i get to see him every weekend - it is so hard if i don't see him for two weeks
Well I dont know if this counts but my FI is a cop and he works weird hours (from 1pm-1am) and I never see him. Unless you count when I see him sleeping while I get ready for work.

I am like DiamondGrlie...Pat works all the time. We don't live together either so when he doesn't work is the only time he can make the hour trip to see me. It drives me nuts!!!!!!
3 weeks, I went to Florida for Christmas in 2001 and he stayed here.

FI and I've spent a lot of time apart, being from different coasts - 5 1/2 months was the longest, but we'd spend every summer apart too. Out of the 7 1/2 years we've been together, we've spent about 28 months apart.

Us - the most has been a week. Christmas 2000 he went to Florida to visit his parents and I didnt go with him. Before we moved in together we used to see each other Thurs, Sat, & Sun. Now its everyday.

My FI has been at sea for about 1 month and is scheduled to return in October, only to leave again in January for 6 months. After that he is stateside for 18 months. As of right now his stateside base is in Conn so that works well for weekends once he is off the submarine.
I envy you girls.

My FH is scheduled to go back out to sea in 2007 for a period of 2 years. During that time, he will be operating up and down the East Coast and will come into different ports every couple of weeks for the weekend. He will do winter inports in VA for the winter months each year. So we will be able to see eachother, but there will be big gaps. Even though it is so far away, I dread it already.
I certainly appreciate the situation you find yourself in, JP&EP. Hang in there!

About 4 days I think, definitely under a week.
But... He's a cop & works from 7pm-5pm every 4 days for 4 days in a row.
We sleep together for about 4 hours (if he didn't get stuck at work) otherwise less and sometimes even none. I get home after he's left so every week I wont really see him for 4 days!
I'm used to it but I always miss him so much.
I cant imagine what it would be like for him to really be away like some of your FH for months and even years.

The longest has been 5 weeks and during christmas and new years too. He has family in Colombia, most importantly his mom which he doesn't see that often , so he usually goes there every christmas. Last christmas he stayed here and went after. It's horrible especailly during the holidays.
