Question on groom's tux/suit

We're getting married on Sunday afternoon in June. Our ceremony will be at 11:30am and the reception ends at 5pm.

Is there a rule that the groom should not wear a black tux/suit if the ceremony is early in the day? I was told by our photographers that he shouldn't wear black. Any help would be appreciated!
