Question on Invitation Wording?

Question on Invitation Wording?

When you say....request the honour of you presence.

Is it spelled honour or honor.

I prefer honour but I keep seeing it both ways.

Does it matter which one you use??

TIA!!

I remember seeing an explanaiton in the invite book that it should be honour when used that way but I don't remember the reason for it. We're going to use honour also.

we used honour
we were told that's the correct spelling for invitations

I went through my invitation pile of ones from past weddings. The two that used that word spelled it honour.

Strangely enough though, the Everything Wedding Book uses honor.

I'd use honour since that's what you like better.

an invitation book i read stated that 'honour' should be used for more formal weddings in a church, while 'honor' should be for less informal weddings, outside of a church.

but i say put what you want!

If you use honour, that is fine. Just remember when you say: The favour of a reply is requested on or about, make sure you spell it favour!

Keep it uniform!

honestly, I don't think it matters. We used 'honour' because I copied it off of another invitation that I like the wording on.
