I heard that 30% of your invite list respond no?.. Is that a valid assumption?

Usually it's around 20%... you can estimate higher if you have a lot of OOTers

This. BUT. Keep in mind that that's an average. Some people have less than 5% no's. Others have over 30%. Things like how local your guests are, whether you send out save-the-dates, whether it's a holiday weekend, etc will all factor in.
