Just wondering if you need to make an appt to get your marriage license. Me and my fh are planing on going to the Town of Hempstead to get ours. Anyone got there's there, how long did it take?

You don't need an appt. you just walk in. FH and I got our at the Town of Hempstead. The entire process took about 20 min. Just make sure you have two forms of ID for each of you (birth certificate, license, passport).

Wahhh I wish I had known about the Hempstead office. I live in Queens and yesterday we went to the one on Queens Blvd. We waited over two hours only to hear an announcement that said the computers shut down at 4pm. So if we weren't helped by then we would have to leave and come back. Well, we were next in line when 4pm rolled around. I have to go back now :( It feels good to vent.
