Question on Ordering BM Dresses from RK Bridal

Well, my sister and I went to order the BM dresses at Rk Bridal. Now they told me that if I do it with them the dress is $150 plus alterations which is about $65. But I also have the choice to order them through mail by filling out a mail order form and the dress will be $128. Now if I do it this way the girls have to have their measurements and then they place the order accordingly. When the dresses come in RK Bridal will call so we could pick up. Now the salesperson told me the girls would have to find someone to do the alterations( if needed) b/c they will not do it. So, ladies what would you do?

Re: Question on Ordering BM Dresses from RK Bridal

We ordered my girls' dresses from RK Bridal's No Frills Program - the second option you mention.

It was worth it for us because we could get the alterations done elsewhere for cheaper. So we took the girls' measurements, ordered the dresses, and we're having them shipped to NJ to save on the tax (shipping is only like $7 per dress).

The thing is that if you don't do the No Frills, the dress costs MORE money AND you have to pay $65 for alterations! It's not worth it in my opinion, unless you REALLY feel like you won't be able to find someone to do the alterations.

So my vote is for mail order/No Frills

I would order them online also and have the girls find someone to alter them. I dont think they should have a problem at all...GL!

I am doing that also...

i did the no frills too from there and the dresses came quick and it was an easy process..

they have directions on how to measure for the sizes..

i know people talk about phyllis from bridal elegance on this site for alterations so you have that option..

good luck!

Just do the no Frills program, espeically if your BM's dresses are easy to meaure for. Its really idiot proof but they KNOW they can make money by targeting frazzled brides who want to ensure everything will be perfect, including measurements. They are a total rip off and MEAN to you to boot-I say this because I got all my dresses from them and after paying the 65 bucks for MEAUSURING and the PRIVELAGE of having my girls dresses altered there, they needed NO ALTERING! NONE! You'd think we'd get a refund of something right? NOPE! TOTAL rip-off and they have been nasty to ym whole family from start to finish so I say go with the No Frills.

I ordered from the no-frills program and it was great! I was able to save the girls money and they didn't have to go to the store, etc. The dresses came all in the right sizes and colors and even came 4 weeks early!

Thanks girls! With good reviews about the No Frill Program I feel safer doing it. Now, next question, should they girls order their exact measurement or a size bigger just incase the dress run small?

Get the size that fits their biggest measurement. So if according to the size chart the bust measurement means she needs a 12, the waist says an 8, and the hips measurement says a size 10, then order a 12 because they can take in the other areas, but likely cannot take it out in the largest area.

Thank you MrsQ-in2007! That was my concern about the sizes. I will explain this to my bridesmaids.

We did the no-frills option andeverything worked out freat. But the dresses were sent to one house and the girls picked them up from there-they didn't have to go back to the store.
The size chart was pretty accurrate b/c only two girls need alterations (one lost weight).
