I am writing out my thank yous (i know im late! ekk). My sisters bf and his parents, and grandmother were all invited to the wedding. They were dating for long time and we got to know his family. Well, they have since broke up and now I HAVE to send a thank you to them all since they all came and gave us presents. Has anyone had this happen to them and what did you write in the card? I feel like the generic 'thank you for sharing our special day' is kinda i dunno the word to describe it. We knew them well. Please help!
I think the standard 'thank you for sharing in our special day. Thank you for being there for us as we start our lives together as husband as wife' is suffice. They don't need to know that everyone else is getting a little something extra in the thank yous.

Question on Thank yous - Long Island Weddings
You're thinking too much about it. I think the standard is perfectly fine here.

The standard is fine and do not fret you are not late.. I got thanks you's for 2 2012 weddings almost exactly a year after the weddings..

Question on Thank yous - Long Island Weddings
A simple thank you is good but also telling them that it was a pleasure to have them there is not wrong either. Just bc they are not in your life now, or your sisters for that matter doesn't mean that you can't be a little extra thankful. You still knew them for a long time and built a relationship with them.
