Question re: addressing envelopes

On the outer envelope, does the man or woman's name come first (if the couple is not married). Does it matter? The women are my friends and the men are their FHs or boyfriends. Thanks!

Re: Question re: addressing envelopes

I really don't know and it is something that I need to find out. But my friend
just sent me her invite to her March wedding and she put FHs name first
then my name on the bottom (don't know if that was right though?)
SORRY , not much help is it?

Is it really? oops I guess my friend did it wrong!!!!!!!!!! oh well. I won't tell
her , I wouldn't want to upset her. But thanks for letting me know too.

If the couple lives together, then they go in alphabetical order....or at least that is what I read somewhere, but I'm all for putting whomever's name I'm friends with first!

Re: Question re: addressing envelopes

What about inside envelopes? I'm already throwing the 'rules' out the window by addressing the inner with first names only. So my question is - male or female first or alphabetical?
