question Re: Birth control pills

the last time i took my pill was Dec 21 (ortho-tricylcen). I got my period on Dec 25. Its been a mess of a month and i didnt go to the doctor to get a new prescription. I counted 28 days which would be today for me to get my period. So far I havent gotten it.

Is this a normal response from my body?

I want to make an appointment to see my ob/gyn soon so i can get my script, but want to wait till i get my period this way i dont make the appointment, get it, then have to reschedule.

If your body is used to taking the pills and you stopped,it will probably throw it off track. Now you'll probably get it late.

you can have your OB call in a prescription for you till you can get to the office. I have done it a few times. She will call in one or two months for me

i'm surprised (unless you are due 4 an exam) that she didn't call one in w/refills!

Chippatrid thats how I feel. I have an appointment this Friday. I always think if an exam is this bad how on earth will I push a baby out of there.

I had the same problem on the same pill, a lot of the girls on this bd are saying the same thing. My period came 2 weeks late and after many tests that were all negative, I swore I would never take the pill again. You wonder what it does to your body even though they say it is safe.
I also hate going for the yearly exams, I am trying to put mine off until right before the wedding.
The thought of pushing a baby out of there is kind of scary. I wish men got there periods and had to go thru what we go thru!(They would never be able to do it!!!)

Re: question Re: Birth control pills

at least i know i am not the only one. i should definatly get to my doc so i can get my script.

so its probably just my body's natural reaction to not taking the pill. throwing my whole cycle off.

men, they should go through what we go through then they'll understand why we constantly change our minds, have 20 pairs of jeans in 3 different sizes, 50+ pairs of shoes, eat a gallon of ice cream, crave chocolate, and hate them.

Re: question Re: Birth control pills

After being on the BCP's for such a long time it can take up to a month for you to get a full period, you may experience spotting this is all normal. It can take up to 3 months after you stop your pills to ovulate..however, many women ovulate immediatelly so that is why they get pregnant.
Call your OB/Gyn and ask them when they think it would be best to see them. Also use another form of BC you can get pregnant.
