I may have asked this once before but I can't remember anything lately LOL!
If you already know some guests are not coming to the wedding, do you still send them an invitation? I sort of feel like they're going to think we're fishing for gifts (even though IMO they should be giving us something anyway )
Just curious! TIA!

Re: Question re: invitation etiquette
We sent invites to everyone we wanted to invite - regardless if they were coming or not...

Re: Question re: invitation etiquette
Are they family members who live far away or are old and not likely to come? If so, then I would invite them out of respect that you actually thought of them.

No, they are coworkers.

Re: Question re: invitation etiquette
we are. we know my FH uncle that is from vegas can't make it due to health but FH would absolutely love to have him there. I think it is rude to not invite them, like you didn't care to or think of them. My mother thinks it is fishing for gifts and told me that I better not invite my aunt from Fla because she can't afford a gift and won't be there. I guess it can go either way. I told my mother to tell the relatives she tells me not to invite why they are not getting invites. I think it would insult them.

Re: Question re: invitation etiquette
I am sending an invite to everyone on my list, regardless of whether I know they can come or not....just to be respectful, not to get a gift from them.

Re: Question re: invitation etiquette
My coworker made sure to let me know that she and her hubby can't make it so part of me feels like she told me that so she doesn't get an invite and doesn't have to get us something but I don't know... it's a weird situation.

if you think that's why she said it, maybe not sending them an invite is the right thing to do. or perhaps you could say to her, 'coworker, i know you said you and your husband couldn't make it, but i sent you an invite anway in case your plans change b/c we'd love for you to be there'
that way it doesn't look like a gift grab type invite.
