Question Re: Mohonk Mountain House
I was thinking of taking my fiance there for a weekend in July for his 30th birthday...can anyone who has stayed there give me any advice on what they thought of the amenities there including food and what room would you recommend...I looked at their website and I know they have several different types of rooms overlooking the lake, mountains or gardens and I didn't know what would be best. Also, I was wondering if it is extremely pricey...I want to do something extra special since it is his 30th birthday, but I don't want to completely break the bank doing it either since our September wedding is approaching quickly and there is still a lot of balances left to be paid...yikes! Thanks in advance for all of your help!

Question Re: Mohonk Mountain House
We happend to stay in a room overlooking the lake, it was nice because it has a blacony that we sat on it a few times. I think it is a little pricy but well worth it, the food was great and they have tea and crumpits at four everyday. We loved it and I am planning on going back after our wedding, I really want to go in the summer because we were there in the winter and we couldn't hike some trails because of the ice, plus the gardens are supposed to be incredible, & I would love to see them. After going there I have become obsessed with gazebos. I also plan on taking our kids there in the future because it is a fun place with lots of activities for adults and kids

Question Re: Mohonk Mountain House
We have gone a few times and stayed in rooms overviewing the lake and rooms overviewing the mountain....I really liked the one overviewing the lake (eventhough it is a little more expensive). We have also gone in the summer and they had a choice of having dinner outside..kind of a barbecue (which was amazing!)...where they served whole lobsters and it was a lot of fun! You can also check and see if they have a specific theme weekend that you and your fi may be interested in. We also went on the lake with paddle boats and canoes...it was really wonderful! We really want to go back too....maybe for my birthday in May!?! :-)Welcome New Vendors
