Peter and I haven't registered yet, so I thought I'd do it on my week off after the bar exam. But my grandma seems to think it's too early. Do you girls think I should register in August or hold off? I'm assuming that my bridal shower will be sometime in Feb or March. Thanks girls

Re: Question re: Registering
Ok I think I will then I'm so excited to get register. Ha, I'm such a DORK
I have another question: Where did you girls register? I was thinking of Macy's and Fortunoff's but I've heard bad things about Macy's so I'm not sure now.

Re: Question re: Registering
Does the store send you an email letting you know that it's been discontinued? Or do you have to check each item?

Re: Question re: Registering
we registered from fortunoff and macy's ...so far we haven't had a problem with macy's. i'd say register as soon as you feel like it! we did it over a year before our wedding. it's so much fun to check up on!!! and the stores generally tell you when something is being discontinued....at least fortunoff does.

Re: Question re: Registering
We registered at Fortunoff and Bed Bath and Beyond shortly after we got engaged, which was 2 years before our wedding. People wanted to get us engagement presents, so we received a bunch of stuff off our registry already. There have been a few discontinued items along the way, but we just register for new things when that comes up. It's not too early at all. Have fun!

Re: Question re: Registering
We haven't regsitered yet either. thinking of starting this weekend. We are going to register at Fortunoffs and Bed, Bath & Beyond. I have recently had 3 bridal showers to attend and my experience with the ones at Macy's was horrible. They had nothing she registered for. It was ridiculous! I had to go to 3 different Macy's to find stuff.

Re: Question re: Registering
we have been partially registered since october! my mom asked us to do it so people could start getting us things we needed for the holidays. i must say, registering is quite fun and the earlier you do it, the more you have to update and amend it. the only thing to be wary of is registering for seasonal items. for example, most stores change their bedding collections every season. have fun and best of luck on the bar exam!!!!!

Re: Question re: Registering
We registered really early b/c of the eparty. We have to add a couple more things and we are done. We registered at Macys and Crate & Barrel. I haven't heard complaints from anyone. The only bad thing about C&B is some of their items are seasonal but I constantly check and call the store to make sure items are still available. Marcela have a great time registering! It is fun if you make the best of it. Bring a bottle of water too.

Re: Question re: Registering
Hey Marcela! - I think its def. a good idea to start registering. FH and I are registering a little at a time so it's not as overwhelming. We are registered at Fortunoff and Crate and Barrell and are going to register at Tiffany's too once we come back from vacation. I would hold off registering for bedding and bath though at least until the winter because they are always coming out with new things. Go and register and have a blast!! It's so much fun!!

Re: Question re: Registering
Marcela, I would register. Michael and I registered about a two weeks ago. We had so much fun registering at Fortunoff's and a local store by my house. With regards to items being discountined, you can check your registery online ever once in awhile to see if anything has been discontinued. Have fun doing it!!!

Go for it! Have a blast!!
I am so excited! We are registered @ TARGET for stuff that i know won't be discontinued-such as a lot of the small appliances. i was waaaaaaaay too excited to wait! I opened our registry @ FORTUNOFF's and added like one thing. the bedding is what i think you should hold off on because that stuff changes so quickly, but then again they tell you if something is discontinued! I think we will fully register sometime in sept. when the craziness of summer is over!
p.s. Marcela--my friends jsut got engaged and booked Floral Terrace for a couple of week after you!! I'm so excited-I've never been there!

Re: Question re: Registering
I say go for it! We registerd along time ago (we sent out engagement announcements - don't ask) but we actually got some stuff. Now that we are living together we don't need too much so my FI convinced me to put on there a popcorn maker, a snowcone machine & a fondue pot, which I'm sure will get TONS of uses!!!!
Marcela, your test is next week already?!! In case I don't get the chance, good luck!!!!
