Anyone use or will be using or attended a wedding where the DJ was Anthony or anyone other than Tom White? Just curious how it went. Thanks.

Please let me know how it goes b/c Anthony is DJing our wedding in November. I really liked Anthony and our musical tastes seemed to match. We have a younger crowd and Tom told me that Anthony usually DJ's the younger weddings. Have a wonderful day and much Congratulations!!!

Tina; That's real interesting about Anthony playing to younger crowds. We wanted Tom because he's close to our age and understood Fi's musical tastes. He wasn't available and we agreed to Anthony after seeing him on the video. Tom said Anthony is in his late 30's and would play well to our crowd - virtually no one under 35! How old was the Anthony you met? Maybe you're working with the other Anthony. All I know is that if I hear 'Give it up for the new couple.... ' I'll be really angry - we don't want a hip-hop wedding!!!

Lee & Karen-Don`t worry

If you haven`t already discussed this with Tom, don`t hesitate to pick up the phone and call to make sure that there is a solid understanding of what you want and don`t want. No need to cause yourself undue stress over it. I used Spin Around and Tom was our DJ/MC and Scott was also doing the DJing. Everything was terrific and I found it to be a very thorough operation and Tom really listened to what we wanted and I`m sure it`s the same with gigs that are done by Anthony too so I definitely think a call to put your mind at ease is worth it.

Actually Tom and Anthony are coming over to our house to meet with us (how's that for convenience) on Thursday to go over everything and to make sure we have a chance to meet with Anthony...I was just curious since I've not heard too many reviews where it was a DJ other than Tom...glad to hear you had a good experience

I have no doubt that Tom is good - just getting nervous about Anthony as the lead DJ / MC now that I'm seeing that we've been told he's good for our 'older, conservative' crowd and someone else was told that Anthony generally plays the 'younger' crowds.

Spin Around Sound

This is just my opinion, so no one get mad please... :0) I saw Spin Around Sounds video, and my fiance and I was not impressed at all. We have seen a lot of videos since we're in NC. I know videos don't always reveal how and who they really are, but from all the videos I've seen, we really, really liked Invitation To Dance. That's who we're using. Maybe it was just the video they gave me to review, but I thought it was extremely boring??? I'm glad everyone is having good experiences with them. I wanted to use them myself, but didn't like the video. They were extremely nice, but since we had to choose the DJ by video, Invitation to Dance blew them away. Good Luck to everyone!

Karen - you and I will miss each other - you this weekend, me next weekend...good luck to us both...I will post on Friday after my meeting with Anthony if you like, although, I don't know how much time (if any!) you will have to check in...keeping fingers and toes crossed!

I've had so many other potential problems prior to this, such as Dad in the hospital with kidney stones and Fi's Mom threatening to not come to the wedding after she got mad at him and they've all worked out. I just keep praying that God will take care of this too - even the weather is cooperating, so I am starting to feel calm. I think Tom is too professional in his business to send anyone that is not up to his standards, but it is nerve-wracking to not be able to meet them beforehand and to have anything but complete confidence right now. Like you said, keeping fingers and toes crossed, and saying a prayer too. Best of luck to you!!!

There are two Anthony's. The one we met was really tall. I don't think they play hip-hop unless you request it and I know we didn't put any hip-hop on our request list other than maybe popular Will Smith songs. They have gotten really good reviews on the board and will play whatever you want based on the styles you request. They seemed very classy and professional (unlike some of the other DJs I met with) I am positive you will be fine and have a wonderful reception. Good luck!
