QUESTION re: teeth bonding - update w/ new question

OK so...I have a small space in between my front tooth and my left incisor, and an even tinier space in between my two front teeth. The way to correct these would be to bond them, because the teeth aren't big enough to fill the spaces they belong in (so braces is not the remedy). My dentist can bond them, but I can't get in for an appointment until 2 days before the wedding. He made it seem like no biggie but his receptionist was like, 'what if you don't like it?' She has me scared - the spaces are small - is there anny way I won't like it?

Has anyone had their teeth bonded? Now I'm having second thoughts.

ETA: For those that had it done - did your insurance cover it? My Dentist was saying mine might b/c I have a PPO. If it didn't cover it, do you mind sharing how much it was?

Re: QUESTION re: teeth bonding

i had my front 2 teeth bonded because i fell and broke them back when i was 16 (the day after i got my braces off my mother i thought was going to kill me) I dont quite understand why you wouldnt like it? it honestly looks the same as your teeth

Re: QUESTION re: teeth bonding

then i think you will really love it! its almost like getting a cap but its just attached to your teeth...

just be warned that after a while like a couple of years its possible that the color may change or it could fall off and need to be redone..

about 2 years ago i bumped my tooth on a beer bottle and it fell off

and i happen to drink alot of soda/tea/iced tea so it does get alittle dingy looking.. but only something that I notice noone else.

also you cant use those whitening strips cuz it will whiten all your other teeth and NOT the bonding.

Re: QUESTION re: teeth bonding

my FH has bonding between his 2 front teeth b/c he had a small space. it looks perfect and no one knows he has a gap. it has fallen out a few times and he just has it replaced.

also, I had braces for 5 years ( ) and I still have a space between my 2 front teeth. Hence why I ALWAYS smile with my mouth closed. I am debating bonding also. I was actually debating vaneers but they are super expensive.

I NEED to get mine fixed before the wedding too. I want to get them whitened before I do it because I know the whitening process won't work on any face pieces. If anyone has any good cosmetic dentist - let me know!

How much (ballpark) are veneers? I know it's a lot, but just curious.

Re: QUESTION re: teeth bonding

I had my 2 teeth next to my front teeth bonded because they were too short compared to my fron teeth in my eyes.

It takes like 5 minutes to do it and you cant even tell its not your teeth.

Totally do it!!!!!!!!!!

Re: QUESTION re: teeth bonding

YAY!! All these posts are making me so excited (and making me think that the secretary is crazy)! I'm totally doing it.

Also - for the person who asked about veneers - I looked into them once and they were like about $1000 per tooth.

Karin - SAME SITUATION. Always smile with mmy mouth shut. And when I do smile w/my mouth open and see pics of myself - I HATE THEM.

Re: QUESTION re: teeth bonding

My front tooth is bonded. I had it done more than 10 years ago..it did start to get a little yellowish (i also drink a lot of coffee) I had it rebonded, it's fine. I am now doing the whitening and getting it rebonded again in a few weeks.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't like it.
