When you mailed out your resumes, did you attach your list of references with it?
My brother started sending out resumes (just finishing student teaching) and sent out his list of references with his resume and cover letter.
I never did this, i always just waited for interview and then they ask for your references, my brother is arguing with me saying he doesnt see what the big deal is
I dont think its really wrong to attach it, but it just seems odd to me to send it with your resume
yeah, I've always put 'references available....' on the resume and had them for interviews.
thanks thats what mine says too.. do you think it will look strange to the admins when they see his reference page in there?
No, I don't think it will look strange. FH is student teaching as well and he says a lot of people are doing it that way. So I would assume that they are used to seeing it either way.
My father is a school administrator and he's told me that all the coordinators in his district throw out resumes that do not have references directly on them.

Very interesting. I wonder if this is something new? I never put references directly on it..but then again its been awhile since I sent out a resume. I was thinking of updating mine just to have and now I wonder if I should add references directly on?
not a teacher but yes ive also been told to put the references in the resume. Also at my old job i had to go through resumes before i even gave it to the manager to the see if they had specific qualifications and i remember alot had references in there. Some did say 'references available upon request' either way is fine
