Alot of my friends have been asking me this question since i am planning a wedding but i have no clue as to what the answer is... If your family, friends, guests (etc.) give presents/gifts at your bridal shower do they give you ANOTHER one at the wedding??? Is it 2 seperate gifts or one or the other? I would think it is MIGHTY expensive if it's both. How does this work?

Most people gave me a registry gift at the bridal shower and money at the wedding.

yup- just like everyone else said you do get gifts at both the shower & wedding. usually a boxed gift for the shower & an envelope at the wedding.

It depends on where they are from. Our guests from NY and NJ tended to give a registry gift at the shower and cash for the wedding.
Other guests not from NY Metro gave registry items at the wedding and something small from the registry or lingerie at the bridal shower.

You will get two gifts, one for the shower-usually a registry gift and one for the wedding, usually cash/check

In my experiences (in NYC and LI) the brides closest female family and friends give gifts from her registry at the shower. Than all guests give a wedding gift (usually $$$$) at the wedding. Again I only have experience with LI and NYC weddings which I have heard isn't the way things are done in other parts of the country. Hope this helps

Presents at both! But shower presents can be smaller- I usually give in the 30-50 dollar range for a shower.
