Re: Question regarding what is top shelf liquor???
I have been having a problem with them about the liquor thing too. When I booked in May 2004, there was no mention that top shelf liquor excluded Heinekin and Corona. They only told me about that when I went to see them on Friday 10/14. Nick the BM also didn't mention neglected to mention that there would not be Grey Goose, Kettle or Captain Morgan. I just found out by reading your post. At this point, I am pi$$ed of at being mislead.
I called AWM just a few minutes ago, and asked for a list of the 'top shelf' liquor. She said she can't fax it to me- that Nick would have to do it, and he gets in at about 2:30. I will wait for his explanation and let you know.

Ok good I was going to call them myself, I have to meet w/ someone tonight, I am furious, they mislead me this whole time too.. Then I was like well i may bring my own stuff and she was like well you can but not a lot.. no you are going too get it now.. What they consider top shelf is Absloute, bacardi , hennese, seagrams, things you get at a retiremnet party.. I have been asking for a list for 2 weeks and they conviently forget to get back to me.. Didn't forget i have to pay a final payment tonight, got that call 3 times..

So you are getting the runaround?
Nick told me that I was welcome to bring my own liquor, but HELLO, that is what I am paying YOU for!

Ok, then you can bring your own, but you want $20/per head taken off the price of your wedding.

Re: Question regarding what is top shelf liquor???
When we booked the Watermill, we asked and Grey Goose was not included in the 'top shelf'. It was an extra $3 pp (i think). We said that that was a major thing that we wanted, and they threw it in for free. So some places will give in, you just have to bother them enough about it.

Re: Question regarding what is top shelf liquor???
I took a look at the list of liquors which my hall will be providing at the bar.
Honestly, I am not the least bit concerned that Grey Goose will not be served at my wedding. My guests will be served good food, good drinks, and if someone wants to be a booze snob and complain, that’s their problem.
People are starving to death in many parts of the world. Sorry, but I couldn’t care less about Grey Goose.

I guess if you were into maritinis or something else yourself it would be a bigger issue. Some people just like their drink their way.

What does one thing have to do with the other? That's a very snide and unnecessary comment. It could be given it right back to you with anything you care about with your wedding... People are starving in many parts of the world so why do you care so much about a dress, food, party...
Just try to be more considerate when responding to people's posts. And if you find you can't, maybe you should reconsider responding altogether.

I didn’t mean to insult anyone personally, if I did I apologize.
I guess my point was that “I” do not care about Grey Goose and I would certainly not consider paying extra for it or any other kind that is not being served. You have to draw the line somewhere, that’s the line for me.

Re: Question regarding what is top shelf liquor???
Ok I called and was told that I will be getting Bud, Coors, Absolut, Tanqueray, Johnny Walker, Bacardi and a rum (Can't remember the name).
I am not a drinker and have NO idea if that is considered top shelf or not. Should I be satisfied with that?

Those are considered top shelf liquors but there are higher end liquors like Grey Goose, Patron...etc..
I still think you should have an imported beer choice as well.

Re: Question regarding what is top shelf liquor???
At Fox Hollow, my BM told me I could get whatever I wanted in terms of liquor. I made sure top shelf liquor would include Grey Goose, because yes, I am a liquor snob (and so is my fiance) and he told me that 'whatever I wanted - Guinness, Johnny Walker, Grey Goose, you name it' would be included, I just have to specify the particular liquors I wanted when I finalize my menu (I think it's at that time)
