Just wondering if anyone can tell me a price range for dress alterations done by phyllis? I don't plan on buying my dress from her-just alterations...
I'm going to need the usual.. length & side alterations. Thx

Boning is when they add vertical wire or plastic at the torso part of the dress to hold you in & give you a nice shape.

I got my dress from her, so she gave me a little bit of a better price. She did a great job with my alterations, the only thing I can suggest is that you tell her what you are happy with and what you are not. I kept telling her that I wanted my dress taken up another 1/2 an inch to an inch and she kept talking me out of it (probably because she did not want to do all that work again), and I listened to her. I must have mentioned it at least 10 times to her and she talked me out of it all 10 times. I wish that I pushed for it because my dress was just a little too long and people kept stepping on it. Although it was very annoying to hold up my dress every time I walked and people kept stepping on my dress, I really could care less about that. But I just felt bad because everyone else felt so bad when they stepped on the dress. I kept saying 'don't worry about it I am never going to wear this again', but they still felt so bad, so by the end of the night everyone was keeping their distance from me when they were dancing. My poor DH felt so bad all night when he would step on my dress. That was my only complaint though. So if you really feel like you are not happy with something, just speak up! But other than that, the alterations did come out GREAT!
