When it comes in, do you take it out of the shop or leave it for them to hold it for you...
Having a bit of an issue with Commack Wedding Center right now.

Re: QUESTION: WEDDING DRESS
i think it depends on the policy of the shop. i got mine at lestans and theyre holding it until a week before the wedding. but i know davids bridal makes you pick it up right away. thats why they try not to have the gown delivered to early.
I had my final fitting last week for my Sept 7 wedding. My dress shop is holding my dress for me until I pick it up on Sept 6.
Good luck!

Re: QUESTION: WEDDING DRESS
Almost everyone I know leaves it there until a few days before.
BUT (not to freak you out), there was a post a while back about someone whose bridal shop was letting people try on her dress. As long as you tell them NO ONE is to try it on under any circumstances, I think its safe to leave there.

Re: QUESTION: WEDDING DRESS
I got mine from David's and they said it would come in 6 months and it took like 3 weeks. I was panicking because I didn't want anything to happen to it in my house but it worked out fine. If you have to take your dress home, just wrap it in a clean white sheet under the garment bag and hang it somewhere safe away from food or smoke smells. Mine is fine and the good thing was I got to keep an eye on it!

if you want to take it, you should be able to - you paid for it! i would take it right away especially if you are having alterations done elsewhere.
however, if you are having your alterations done at the wedding center, you should be able to leave it there.

Re: QUESTION: WEDDING DRESS
I didn't pick up my dress until the day before my wedding. Bridal Reflections said this was to make sure it was pressed and kept that way as long as possible.

Re: QUESTION: WEDDING DRESS
Usually you leave it there for them to store - 'cuz according to some places - if you take it out of the store, they won't keep the 'cap' charge - if there is one...
What is the Wedding Center doing NOW!?

Re: QUESTION: WEDDING DRESS
My understanding is that the majority of wedding salons will hold your dress until a day (or few days) before your wedding... IF you are doing the alterations there.
If you want to do your alterations elsewhere, you can take it with you as soon as it comes in.
David's Bridal is one of the few stores that makes you pick it up when it comes in - usually because they don't have enough space to store that many dresses.

Re: QUESTION: WEDDING DRESS
I got mine at Macy's and they are keeping it till the wedding. I have heard some places make you take it.

Re: QUESTION: WEDDING DRESS
I left mine at the shop, I was afraid that if I took it home I would want to prance around in it AND that DH might see it

Re: QUESTION: WEDDING DRESS
I feel exactly how you feel. They have the dress I like, I just dont trust their staff. I am trying to find another place that has it and will match the price, but i havent had no luck. worst come's to worst, I might find someone else to alter it. But than, its not longer their responsibilty. So if I need extra beads or some extra stuff, they are not responsible for it another more.

Re: QUESTION: WEDDING DRESS
I think CWC has a $1 per day storage fee if you leave it there past 30 days.
