Re: QUESTION: wedding invitation regrets?
I always send a gift (usually from their registry) if I can't attend.

Re: QUESTION: wedding invitation regrets?
Some people don't attend weddings because of the money factor, so would not send a gift. I think it really depends on how close you are with that person... if they're close friends or family.

They certainly aren't required to. Depending upon how close I am with the person I usually send a card with $100 if I can't attend.
I thought actually you are 'required' to. At least according to ettiquette.
Unless of course you hardly know the person& you think they are fishing for gifts, but in most cases, iwuld send something, but I don't entirely expect it from everyone who doesn't attend my wedding.

I agree that it definitely depends on the person but must people do.

Re: QUESTION: wedding invitation regrets?
It's appropriate for them to send a gift even if they don't attend. It's usually not as substantial a gift unless they are a close friend or family member. But it's polite to send something.

Same here. I think most people believe that if they're not going they don't have to give a gift. I believe that as per etiquette, if you are invited you should give a gift whether you attend or not.
