Question-Who walks Mom down the aisle...

if your Dad is walking you down the aisle? What about the groom's mom if the groom' s dad is best man? Is there a certain protocol to follow? I was just thinking about the bridal party line up and suddenly had all these questions. Any thoughts appreciated?

my brother was in the bridal party, and my dad walked me down the aisle. I had my brother escort my mother into the ceremony or if you don't have siblings, maybe an uncle or something close to you or doesn't have a part in ceremony can have that honor.

A nice touch would be for the groom to escort his mother to her seat then take his place at the altar. Or his dad can walk her him and assume his place.

I did the same thing. On the way back down the aisle, my brother walked out with his bridesmaid and my mom was escorted out by her brother, one of my uncles.

Thanks for the info ladies! In terms of all the people that could have responded to this question I think it's quite interesting that you both happen to have the same wedding date and that you wedding date is exactly one year from mine! It must have been fate!

I don't have any brothers, so i'm going to have my uncle who is also my godfather walk my mom down the aisle.

I don't have any siblings so I had my dad walk my mom down the aisle and then come back for me. My uncle walked my grandmother.

My cousin is walking my mom down the aisle. But your Dad can walk your Mom down the aisle and then just swing around and walk you down the aisle too..

my brother(who is also in the bridal party) is walking my mother down the aisle......my fh's dad passed away, so he asked his grandpa if he would walk his mom down the aisle (fhs bro is the best man, so he will be up front with fh)

Who can say they walked their daughter down the ailse twice in life for their grandaughters wedding? It was beautiful for me as well. Whatever you decide it will be perfect!

that is SO UNIQUE and Beautiful...truly something you dont get to do often
