Okay, it has been (will be 5 weeks on Monday), since having a Dand C. Dr. said he didn't want me to conceive for two months. I haven't gotten AF yet at all!!!! He said it could take 4-8 weeks before it returns for first time. Does not conceiving for two months mean 'two months, March and April' OR does it mean two cycles which will mean we will have to wait even longer since I haven't gotten even one AF yet?

it means 2 cycles. After my natural M/C I spotted for 6 weeks...it also took those 6 weeks for my HcG levels to hit zero. Then AF came on 1/31 (I m/c on 12/21) and then she came again 3/1
For me, I dealt with it better when it happened and it got harder as time went on
I had no idea you m/c!

I would think that 2 months meant 2 months (60 days). I also would have thought you would have AF by now, maybe you should call your doctor and tell him what's going on.

It means 2 cycles. After my D&C I got AF 4 weeks to the day of the surgery. Then again 5 weeks later. Then I got PG. Good luck!
ETA - 4-8 weeks is normal duration after the D&C. I wouldn't worry about AF not showing yet. Give it another week or 2 and if still nothing then give a call.

Thanks ladies. That's what I thought but not getting AF is killing us. DH really wants a child and wants to start again ASAP. I can't wait to get AF so that I can get my 2nd one and we can start again!
Btrflygrl--Thanks for the good wishes. I was the same way as you. I was a mess when I first found out, then was ok and now as I encounter people in my life who are due on what was supposed to be my due date I cringe and get upset. I guess it's normal and you just need to move on.

I've heard that it's very common for AF to come late after a D&C... I had a natural m/c in December, and for me, it was the opposite. I ovulated about 7 days later, and though, like you, my doctor had told me to wait 2-3 cycles, he told me about a week too late, and I conceived again right after the m/c... 15 weeks later, I'm now fat as can be, and our little monkey seems to be doing just fine...

I'm really sorry that you m/c. I also had a D&C 5 weeks ago (Sat), and I still haven't gotten AF. However, we're not expecting to try asap.
My dr said to wait 2 cycles (not months) to TTC. However, Dr. say that to give you time to prepare mentally... not necessarily physically (grieving purposes) as well as to make sure that your cycle is back on track. But, if you're ready to TTC, by all means, try immediately after you get AF... cause that's when it's pretty much official that your cycle is getting back to normal, and you'll be ovulating.

PS: I feel the same way... I get upset seeing preggo's walking down the street, or hearing about preggo's progress that had the same due date. I'd love to get back on that horse, to make up for lost time, but I'm not sure when DH will be ready. He's worried about going through the same thing again.

Thanks chichila15. We will be waiting for the 2 cycles even though we want to start before that. I am sure that when my doc said two months that he meant two cycles. We are both a little older (me 36, DH 39) and don't know how long it will take this time so... we don't want it to happen again but I guess we are prepared for anything.
