Ok so when I go up to the person at the post office do I just simply ask them to hand cancel? Wait, do I do this or do they lol

When I went I just asked if I have to hand cancel or will they do it. They ended up doing them for me.

Yes, go to a postal worker and tell them you want them hand cancelled and not to run it into a machine there. They stamp a rubber ink stamp over the postage stamps to 'cancel' them. It basically let's people know where the package/mail came from.
If they run your invite through a machine it could tear/rip. You want them staying as pretty as possible.

you drop them off and they do it for you. I know they do it for you because a few minutes after I left, I ran back in to get more stamps and 2 people were hand canceling them already.......
some places let you do them but I am pretty sure the majority do it for you.

Yup.. just ask them and they'll hand you the stamp. It's just the circle that goes over the stamps to cancel them out. (lol didn't know this before then )

This happened to me too. But when she saw how many envelops I had she was happy I did it and not her.

The lady told me it doesn't matter if you hand cancel because it still goes through a sorter machine. Hmm or she was just lazy and didn't want to do it.

I had a box of invites and waited til they opened cause I was early.. then the guy was nice enough to take them in the back and do them for me!!
