Questionnnnn

FH & I are both Catholic but are getting married at our RH so the guests do not have to go flying all over Connecticut to find the place. Does anyone know if there is any sort of exemption to it not being recognized? Or does anyone know that if FH & I could go at a later date and have it recognized?

Re: Questionnnnn

you could always set up a date with the priest and have a small vows ceremony just you, fh, your witnesses and parents in the catholic church...that way it will be recognized

You could definitely go later and have a catholic ceremony in a church. My sister and her husband are actually thinking of doing that because they were married by a justice of the peace.

ooo good! I'm glad to hear that I can do this!

Do you know if it has to be a big hoopla? Or you can just go with your witnesses, wear a nice non-wedding gown dress, and have it done? That's what I would want to do.

I think you still would have to do pre cana but otherwise you probably can talk to you church and just do it maybe during the week at a small service. I am sure you dont have to wear a wedding dress

You can go after your wedding and have a small ceremony at the church. As far as I know, there are no exceptions to recognizing outside of the church.
