Typically how much do bridesmaid dresses run- i picked some, but they are all mid 200s to 300 - is that normal?
Bridesmaids' dresses can range a lot in prices, but $200-300 seems high IMO, especially if you're asking your BMs to pay for it. Mine was in the $100 range - they were by Alfred Angelo.
Mine were 120 each, and that was the average price of the ones I liked. I tried to keep it affordable for my girls.

I think that anything over $200 is a bit much to ask, considering they need alterations, shoes etc.
I went with the designer Bill Levkoff and my girls picked their own gowns, which ranged from $140-$200. They were happier than pigs in mud because they got to choose their dress in the color I wanted.
If it's a dress you really want them to wear, can you split the cost of it if needed?

Mine were about $135. I think over 200 is a bit much.

Shop around for prices. I got quotes for my bm dresses for over $200 and with a little bit of searching, we got them for $138.
Try Burtons or gownfind for the lowest prices. They both have good reputations here on the boards.

I think there are lots of dresses in the 100's range - I saw a lot around the $150 mark when I was looking. But there were also certain designers whose dreses were mostly in the high 100s and 200s. The ones I ended up selecting were around $250 I think.
i wanted to stay under $150 for my girls, and we found a nice mori lee dress for $135 and $60 cap for alterations. i am in my brothers wedding and the bm dress is $250 plus the $60 for alterations...and it is a lot to ask in my opinion. ~lacey
I believe my BM dresses were 140 and even with alterations they weren't $200-IMO anything over $200 is a lot to ask especially since they would need alterations and shoes etc on top of that
