Questions about brazilian...

OK...so I really am thinking of having this done for the wedding/honeymoon. I just had a few questions and I know you girls can help.

1. How long before the wedding should I get it done?
2. How long does it last?
3. How much does it cost?
4. Any recommendations in the port jeff area?
5. Seriously....how bad does it hurt??

1. How long before the wedding should I get it done?

I would do it once before the wedding to see how your skin reacts to it and see how long you are red etc....this wil,l be different for every person. for myself, i would do it a few days before.

2. How long does it last? for me, my hair grows fast...so it's perfect for like 2 weeks and then the 3rd week there is a little hair, but still not bad.

3. How much does it cost? different places will cost different. i go to a really good place in Queens...Arpi's spa..they used to be $36, now they are like $47. i havent went in a while because of lack of money!
I would say average $50-80

5. Seriously....how bad does it hurt?? not too bad....and it's a quick pain...the worse is by the lips..sorry if TMI

You're smooth for about a week, possibly more/less depending on how fast your grow.

It costs anywhere between $40-$80 depending on where you go. I was going to J Sisters in the city and they were charging $75, but then I switched to a spa in Fresh Meadows (Arpi's Spa) and they charged $40 and did a better job than J Sisters.

It hurts, but I find it's more shocking than anything else. The pain doesn't last that long, just a few seconds and then you go numb pretty much. The plucking can be annoying, but if they're good, it'll go by fast.

DO NOT GO INTO A JOE SHMO NAIL SALON (unless a few ppl, not just one, swear by it) that advertises it in their window. I went to a place that advertised it AND a friend recommended it, BUT IT WAS AWFUL! She sat there plucking me for 20 minutes!!! it was horrific.

How bad does it really hurt? Never had one done.

I've been getting mine done for the past 12 years.. I refuse to EVER shave again down there :)..

Depends how your hair grows.. I would try it before the wedding just to see..and also to see how well you can handle the pain..

2. How long does it last?

For me it last perfectly for about 2 weeks, then little hairs come out here and there. I get a wax every 3 weeks

3. How much does it cost?

I get it done in Bk.. and it's $30 without tip.

HONESTLY.. the 1st time I got a wax, I was SHAKING because it hurt so much..lol and I swore I would never do it again.. but now.. I go (and it still hurts a lot..).. but I'm kind of prone to the pain already..and I know what to expect I guess, so it doesn't bother me that much anymore.


Btw.. I hear Bliss Spa has some wax that isn't as painful as others.. I never tried..but that's what everyone tells me. '
