We got a few things that were either doubles or that we didn't need at my baby shower. Do I have to do it all in one trip or can I bring a few little things today and go back another day with DH to return the heavy things? I don't have receipts because most people didn't give us gift receipts. How do they do it? Do they just total up your items and then make you go back to the service desk with exchanges or do they just give you a store gift card?

You can take things back to BRU till the cows come home. Seriously - you dont' need gift receipts. On big items, they scan the box and can see its' theirs. On clothing and stuff just leave the tags on. I even returned stuffed animals. You can go as many times as you want - they'll give you a store credit gift card with the money on it.

So I can get a store gift card with the money on it even though I don't have receipts and use it on another day? Or I can get a few things with the gift card today and use the rest of the credit another day?

Thanks. I want to return a few little things today and then DH will go back with me another day to return the big duplicate items that are too heavy for me to lift. (I guess some people forgot to have items scanned off registry when they bought it & thats why we got doubles.)

I did the same thing, and your DH can bring that stuff back in 4 months too! They'll take it any time. I actually opened a lot of big things, tried them out and returned them. Just keep the boxes and you are all set.

I just took back some things and they were great about taking stuff back w/o receipts. We had received a gift card and they just added the balance right to the gift card!

Baby stores have the best customer service and return policies I've ever encountered. Even if they have no proof that it was purchased there, if they carry it, they will let you return it. I wish people did always give receipts though b/c it's a shame if you do a return and don't get the full amount they paid if it's on sale. (Unless it's off your registry) But I bet you will be shopping on credit for awhile after the baby comes, that's what happened with us with Lukie.

Yeah, I don't know why people don't give gift receipts. We received some things that we didn't register for and have to return. Ex: We got a diaper Genie which we didn't register for and the Diaper Dekor which we did register for. No big deal, I'll get store credit and when we need something else, we can always go back.

I was the return queen -- I kept returning stuff (and still do) and had like over $500 in credit, which I thought would never run out!! But it did, very quickly I might add!!! You'll see that stuff you thought you needed, you either won't have any need for or don't like it.
As long as you have your license, you don't need a receipt! But I did hear that they cap you after a certain amount. I haven't reached that yet, thank God!!
