Hi girls! I am freaking out, possibly because the wedding is only 12 days away and my dress isnt done yet. I went for the 2nd fitting friday, and it still needed to be taken in more at the top (its a strapless dress) and it was all like bumpy looking.
but besides that, i am not sure if i liked the bustle. it's a dress with pickups, and i thought, from the way it was pinned at my 1st fitting, that the length would be the same all the way around. but then i went for my 2nd fitting friday, and its a little longer in the back with it bustled. they told me that that is how its supposed to be, that when bustled, it's still supposed to be a little longer in the back. is that true? should i have it fixed so its the same all the way around (think like Belle in beauty and the beast sort of!)
also, my next fitting is this friday. my wedding is the following friday. do you guys think that is cutting it too close?? what if more work needs to be done? and it still needs to be cleaned/steamed..?
let me know guys because i am seriously freaking out.
thanks! :)

Re: questions about bustle!!
I didn't have a pick-up gown but with my dress bustled it was slightly longer in the back so it just sweeped the ground. Whether it was supposed to be like that or not, it looked very pretty so I didn't mind. And if you are worried about tripping on it, don't - at least I didn't and no one else stepped on it either. Re: questions about bustle!!
It depend on the type of bustle. I would think with a pick up or pull up dress you would have a french bustle and it should be even all the way around. Take a look at this site. If you want it even all the way around tell the seamstress to make it even. French Bustle

Re: questions about bustle!!
i had always thought it'd be the same all around too. but they were telling me its supposed to be longer in the back. i know i can do whatever i want because its my dress, but i dont want people to be like 'why is it like that?' lol... even tho im sure noone would say that.
the bridal salon will be open in 12minutes and im going to call them.
do you guys agree that a 3rd fitting this friday is cutting it too close if its not right? esp if i ask them to change the bustle?

I had a dress with pickups and a french bustle. I think it was the same length in the back but then again I never looked.

Re: questions about bustle!!
I think you will be fine with the 3rd fitting this Friday. You are starting to panic and don't do that to yourself. Don't worry your dress will be ready.

Mine was slightly longer in the back too. I asked them to make it higher but they said it was supposed to be like that. I didn't mind it, actually thought it looked better sweeping the ground a little when I walked. The style of my dress was between an A-line and mermaid and I had a french bustle so it's might be different than yours. If you want it the same length all the way around, tell them to do a mock pin up in your next fitting so you can see what it would look like. If you like it, tell them to change it. They have to make it to your liking. good luck!
its so strange bc i am almost positive that when she pinned it, it was the same all around.
my biggest concern though at the moment is that i dont like how the front of the dress looks... it was all flat and whatnot until she took it in and now its all like bumpy looking. it may also be bc she took out some boning, it was pushing my boobs up too much ... but i think it should go back in, maybe thats why its looking weird. she was telling me friday that is wasnt bc of the boning, but i duno, it had to be there for a reason??
but like i said im going in tomorrow, not for a fitting, but to 'consult' with the seamstress...
but i will manage to make it a fitting of somesorts and she will repin me!
11 days left. totally freaking out! to the point that i cant sleep, its 1am and i am wide awake with anxiety!

Do not freak out your dress will be ready. My wedding is two days after yours and my second fitting is not until Saturday.
