Leonard's is still in my top 3 picks of RH's. I was just wondering who is the best BM to deal with there. I met with Antonio when I looked but people have said he can be nasty. I was shown the Empire room when I went. Do you know what the minimum is for the Oak room? I seen a pick of it in my booklet from them and I love it! Also do you guys know about how much a Sat night is per person? I was given a great price for an afternoon(under my budget!) so maybe I can afford a Sat night (we need a fingers crossed icon). Did they let you do a tasting before you booked? FH won't book unless he tastes the food. Also what's the deal with the cakes? Will I really need to get one from a bakery??? TIA.

Re: Questions about Leonard's
I dealt with Maurizio and he was fine. I believe they have tasting twice a month so call and ask when the next one is, so that your FH can try the food (the tasting is only for the cocktail hour food though).

Re: Questions about Leonard's
So Leonard's will not let you come when they have another event going on and give you a sample of the food being served in another little room?? That seems weird. Thanks!!
My other two options are Larkfield Manor and Westbury Manor

go with westbury manor, i know this isnt the correct thread to be posting on, but seriously, i've been to weddings at both places and did not like leonards AT ALL. the westbury manor wedding was absolutely fantastic. 2nd best wedding i've been to

Re: Questions about Leonard's
The Empire room holds up to 120 and Ernest is the best to deal with. I dealt with all three. Maurizo is not bad. He even tried to save us money.
Ernest is very funny, accomadating and professional. He spent one hour with me and my mom talking to us about wedding horror stories and when they filmed Mickey Blue Eyes and the Sopranos. He even gave great suggestions about vendors, near by hotels etc. He was just very helpful and very nice. I went to see him twice.
We did not like Antonio at all. He was rude and lied to us about a room being booked on the cheaper night! He wouldn't even return three of my calls.
Try a Friday night. It is much cheaper!
Good Luck!

Re: Questions about Leonard's
Out of those choice I would recommend Westbury Manor-- of course I would-- I booked there myself..... I've been to Leonards-- its' nice-- but It all depends on what your lookinfg for ---style wise.... Westbury Manor's grounds are so much nicer than the other two-- Leonards doesn't realy have any and Larkfield only has a small patch of grass
I guess you have to way the pros and cons and what is important to you--- but WM is GREAT!

Re: Questions about Leonard's
Hi....I think a lot of the questions you've ask are really dependent on how YOU feel about the places. Everyone is different and you will hear everyone's opinion regarding that specific place due to their good/bad experience and their taste. I've actually looked at all three of the RH that you are debating over (Leonard's, Westbury Manor and Larkfield Manor). Funny right? I guess we both have similiar taste. I booked Leonard's. My parents didn't prefer Larkfield Manor because it was missing the grand entrance to the RH. I never brought them to Westbury Manor but I didn't book the place because the small room was too small for me and the large room had a higher guarantee guest number that I thought I wasn't able to meet ( but I think I will go over that eventually). I'm really happy to say that I booked Leonard's. Everyone have different taste but I absolutely loved the decor. Of course, my parents loved it as well. It was also very close to Queens and closer for the Jersey guests, so my parents were very glad. I'm not sure who are the managers but I delt with Antonio. I've never had any problems with him so far but he can be very pushy sometimes. I did manage to negotiate with him to get the price that I'm at with a lot of upgrades. One thing about Leonard's is that their price per plate ranges from $80 - $150. If you do get a basic package with no upgrade, I am assuming it should be around $80 - $100 mark. BUT, don't quote me on this and you should ask the BMs. They schedule food tasting every couple of months. What they do is they set up a room on the first floor and invite all the couples to enjoy the cocktail hour food. They don't do food tasting for dinner, which I thought it was strange. I'm not familiar with the Oak room, but I think the room that can accomadate your guests is the Empire room. I've seen the cakes from a lot of previous brides that have gotten married at Leonard's. These are the cakes without being upgraded and they looked fine. I am going to tell them to smooth out my cake and DO NOT put any design on it so my wonderful Florist can decorate it. I'm not too worried about the cake either, most of the time, people either leave before you get to the cake or they'll be too drunk to judge it
Anyways...I think this is a LONG post but I hope this helps. Do what you feel is the best for you and FH. Afterall, it'll be your wedding. You will hear different opinion from other friends/family which is fine because everyone has different opinion but it's yours and Fh's that mattes the most!!! Let me know if you need other help!!! Happy Planning
