Has anyone or does anyone know anybody who converted to Catholicism?
I was raised Catholic and know someone who is interested in converting... I know they need to contact the church to get more information on the RCIA program, but I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it.
How often are the meetings? Is it more like a class instead or a group discussion? What is expected, etc?
Just curious what I can tell them to expect.
Thanks!

Re: Questions about RCIA - Converting to Catholicism
I am not exactly sure. I know it runs from Advent through Lent. You should contact the church for more information.

Re: Questions about RCIA - Converting to Catholicism
My friend's new husband didnt 'convert' because he had no formal religion-but he became a catholic and had to go to classes once a week. he was expected to participate in discussions-sometimes which got heated I was told -and he was baptized-he did reconcilation- not sure what else... I could ask though

I just did this this year. You go once a week for like an hour. You discuss a different topic each week. There are events that you must attend. I really enjoyed it. FM me for more questions.

Hi Kara,
I did the RCIA program through my church because I was never offically 'confirmed' when I was 12 like everyone else. If you want more info FM me and we can talk about it more in depth. PS. did your FH run the marathon and also....how did the 'parent summit' go??? - Jen

Thanks so much for asking!! (And I will definitely FM you about the RCIA)
FH canceled his marathon registration. He's already pre-qualified for next year and he was still so sick this weekend. He was TOTALLY bummed about it, and I felt really bad... but it was the right choice to make.
The meeting of the parents went VERY well! They got along so great!!
