I wonder how religious you consider yourself. If you don't describe yourself as religious, how spiritual would you say you are? Or do you just not have a title for it?
This is NOT intended to start drama - I really am curious.

Re: questions about religion and spirituality
i believe that there's not just one particular 'god.' i believe there are many different gods. and with those many gods come to a similar conclusion. which is wishing peace and harmony to mankind. this much says the same for the Golden Rule - Do unto others as you would to yourself. following it is the hard part.

Re: questions about religion and spirituality
Someone who claims that they do not know or are unable to know whether God exists. www.abdn.ac.uk/philosophy/guide/glossary.shtml
That pretty much describes me. I wasn't raised in a religious household. I knew that people believed in God and Jesus, but I was drawn more to the Gods of mythology and the powers that can be found here on Earth when I was younger. I did make an effort to go to as many different houses of worship as I could with an open mind and in the hopes that I could find 'God' in some way. All I was intolerance and IMO ignorance. Please remember that I grew up in the heart of the Bible belt. So, I decided to claim my spot as an Agnostic. Do I believe in a higher power? Sometimes, I see things and wonder how it all happens, but I usually look to science to explain it and Mother Nature to thank for it.

I'm pretty religious. But I don't believe in the letter of the law. I'm Catholic but I definitely disagree with the church on social issues, etc. I definitely believe in God, and I believe that all religions are equally valid paths. People (mostly on LIW) have criticized me, but I really enjoy worshipping god in catholic, jewish and pagan traditions. I think everyone needs to find their own path.
with all due respect - and I mean this sincerely - it is hard to post controvertial subjects in a public forum, plain and simple. People will agree, or disagree. When people disagree, arguments can occur, and then things get out of control....

I understand where you're coming from, Liza, but I think that we're okay on this thread - so far. I'm just really curious in light of other topics on the board right now and I don't intend to cause harm.

I'm not religious. I don't believe in organized religion and think that most exclude instead of welcome or unite. I have yet to find one that makes me feel whole or closer to God or like I'm with my family, as the Bible says it should be.
I do consider myself spiritual and I believe in God...would love nothing more than to know Him. I also believe in Jesus. But I belong to no religion and have never been baptized.
I agree with what you said sasha to the letter except I was baptised Catholic....I think it is so out of touch with reality so I do not follow it's teachings...

In all fairness, you are under no obligation to read or respond to this or any thread.
